Spleen? and ok I'll give it a look and see if he can give me a good quote. Lowest I've received yet is from some place on DI that wil use aftermarket parts and do the entire 90k (belts, seals, water pump) for about $600. Sure beats the $1300 quote from the dealership... but then again, they'd be using OEM.

Plasti-dip my emblems today all around. Looks good I think.

Now I'm just wondering how long it will last.

Should last quite a while depending on the amount of coats you did. I did my rear bumper years ago and it's still holding up outside of the hit and run area.

As expected, here's some pictures for you guys considering it. Plasti-dip is amazing stuff. Haha. I'm thinking about derping my tailgate handle. That cheap plastic is looking rather faded!!!

Here's the before and after gallery.

Supercharged guys, how are your Taco's holding up in traffic, etc. now that the temps are staying at 100+ during the day?

Can any of you recommend a good shop to take my truck in for it's 30k maintenance? I'm not paying Toyota $400. I can do the simple stuff like oil, filters, etc. But everything else I'd rather have a shop do with the right tools. I'm in the GVR area. Thanks!

I broke my own number one rule this week. took my truck to Jiffy Lube..

they didn't put the Air filter hose back on, it was rattling around, and I have zero coolant. Is there ANY reason my truck with 40k miles should have zero coolant? unless those asshats did something wrong???

So pissed. I know better than to do that!

Not sure about the coolant issues...leak maybe? Check all the fittings. Check your tire pressure too. Last time I went to a place like that they serviced my tires up to 50+ psi!

Yea.. Bunch of idiots man. No coolant leak that I can see. Had plenty last time I changed oil myself. I always do it, especially with how easy Taco's are.

Not sure if relevant but I'm now hearing a clicking noise when I accelerate. Only when accelerating though. doesn't happen when idle or in park and give it gas. Only while accelerating at green lights, etc. Any suggestions??

Pretty livid. Going to start the process of elimination tomorrow or take it to the dealer

Any luck getting that figured out? I'd take it back to Jiffy Lube and show them the problem. They have insurance for their screw ups.

No luck yet no. I tightened up everything and still hear it. Forums here simply suggests I'm hearing the "taco tick" and the noise from the engine is normal, but this just started. It's new.

I hear it around 1000 RPMs while the engine is first ramping up. If I hit the petal harder it goes away. Trying to get a clip of it recorded, but it isn't too easy.

Forums say its "normal or the Tacoma tick" but it just started around 44k miles.. Also, its only audible around 1,100 rmps. I've been running 91 gas, no change.

And yes.. Is Jean run still on? May bring the chick for the bonfire.
