I'm honestly surprised how few posts there are in this thread considering how much wheeling there is to do in the area :notsure:

I have yet to meet any of the locals. But on that note, buddy backed out of camping for the weekend. Anyone want to do wheelers pass or rocky gap? Or any other trails in the mountains to beat the heat. Or even a night run.

I really just want to wheel this weekend

Hmm, I've joined about 2 or 3 groups on Facebook. The Vegas FJ Cruisers and Battle Born Tacomas groups seem to be pretty active, so hopefully I'll get to meet a bunch of people and do some wheeling through them.

If I was moved already I'd definitely be up for it. Hopefully only a couple more weeks....

Actually my goal is to start posting some rides after Aug 1st. I'm not into doing anything real hard but i like to explore the area. Places like Morman Wells, Delmar ghost town. There are a lot of interesting areas around Rainbow Canyon.

Let me know us anyone would be interested in that.

Done some of the trails around rainbow canyon and Delmar. Lots of cool places but mostly graded roads like a highway. Easily did 60 MPh on parts. Some good views thougb and some cool off shoots. Post up the runs and I'll go

Yeah I'm on the fj group. They do some good trails and have seen them around town. Hoping to make a run soon. Always fall on bad weekends for me haha. Battle born group looks cool. Meets are always on the opposite side of town and late but may make there meet this week though.

    Nice, same here. Hopefully....

Good old AF is taking their sweet time with paperwork. I was supposed to be there by 31 July, but that's not happening anymore.

Yeah, this is my first time doing a real PCS. My gaining squadron dropped the ball and took too long to get the paperwork to AFPC. Got a hold of somebody that I used to work with over there, they got mad at their guys, and two days later I got the notification. What a surprise....

Be safe during that drive. I'm not looking forward to mine, but it's nowhere near as long as yours.

I'm going to be working at Creech unfortunately. Hooray for 40+ minute commute.

Creech im so sorry. Im happy to be going to the rescue side on nellis. took me 7 years to get back to it but at least it happened. wife works at the hospital.

this is our first PCS together. she was already in alaska when we got married and i got reassigned from Kansas.

so when are you looking at actually getting there? we are going to be in TLF for a good 30 plus days until we get a house.

Yeah, not the best place but I volunteered for it. The place I'll be working at is selective and was probably a once in my career opportunity for me so I jumped on it. Hope I don't regret it. I like the Vegas area though. I've been there for a few months for training.

My wife is out of town all Summer, so I'm doing this move myself. So that's fun.

I'm hoping to get there as close to August 1st as possible. It all depends on how quickly I can finally get my orders in my hand. We went to Vegas last week for house hunting and managed to find a house to rent. About to sign the lease, but they're trying to get me to give them an exact move-in date which is impossible.

i hear ya on the career move. always just on opportunities!!!

sucks you are moving on your own. we are looking to buy a house. I'm expecting to be there for at least 4+ years. wife can retire about that time. I've still got a few more years after that. its not our forever home but can be a good investment.

Yeah, we went back and forth on buying. I'm going to be doing a 4 year controlled tour, but if I my current plans pan out then I don't want to be investing that much money into a house until my wife finishes college next year. Then we might look into buying.
