I've never done it myself, but definitely something that you can do yourself if you're able to do basic repairs. This video explains it pretty well.

Findlay toyota replaced mine under warranty. there is a service bulletin out for this so they will fix if you are still under warranty.

I ended up ordering the ECGS bushing, and I’m going to do the install myself. Thanks for the response.

Did a ~70 mile loop South of Las Vegas today.

Looks like an awesome trip! Where were you? What kind of CB setup do you have? I'm trying to get mine up and running but I cant get it tuned. SWR keeps showing 3+.

This was going around Potosi Mountain down to Good Springs and then back up to Vegas via Cottonwood. Below is a link to the general route I took.
    https://www.gaiagps.com/datasummary...map&openPrint=false&layer=SatelliteWithLabels

If you need help getting tuned I can help out, just let me know. It's usually a grounding issue. Mine went from an SWR of 4:1 down to 1:1 across nearly all channels once I got a good ground. Below is a good article to read for grounding issues.
    https://www.rightchannelradios.com/blogs/troubleshooting-guides/18428219-testing-for-a-ground

My CB is a Cobra C75WXST with a 5' Firestik II on a heavy duty spring with a folding attachment all on a Cali Raised mount.

Ran the small connector box that the antenna cable, mic, and power wires connect to under the driver seat.

Then ran the mic between the seat and center console, and when I don't need the mic it goes into the center console via the cable indentation.

Thats awesome. I would love to get an assist on the grounding. I'm almost positive thats what it is. Is your mount powder coated? Mine is so I'm wondering if I have to sand it down, its a Rago Fab mount by the way.

Mine was, but I removed the powdercoating around the hole for the underside of the antenna stud to ground to. You can either do that or run a wire from the underside of the stud to the frame to create a ground so it doesn't rust.

Depending on your stud type, below is a good picture explaining how the lower half of the stud has to be able to ground to the mount which in turns grounds to the body of the truck. If the antenna can't ground itself then you'll get high SWR.

Okay, i have the firering to the K4. I'll probably remove the powdercoating around the hole. I'll try that today and see how it goes. Thanks for the help!

Success! went from 4+ to 1:1 on channel 1! It also helped when I actually tightened the post to mount.:frusty:

Glad it worked for you!

I recommend checking it again after the next time you off road, just to make sure any vibrations don't cause it to lose it's ground. Had it happen to me on my 1st gen.

Hey everyone, we just moved out here. Looking to tag along on a few meets. Any ideas on the next one? Also, any good spots to trail out to and camp/hunt?

Unfortunately stuff isn't posted on here a lot. There's Facebook groups that I follow that usually have a meet or trip planned.

Hey Vegas folks... I'll be out from San Diego for the Baker to Vegas Relay race and was wondering if anyone wanted to take me with my stock '18 Sport 4x4 on a long trail somewhere. I've got stock suspension and 5" nerfs, so the trail would need to be kind enough for that. Date would Sunday, 24MAR2019.

I'd be down to hit some trails! Not too many people post on here about trips, mostly on Facebook, but I don't have facebook, so I miss out.
