Vegas BS Thread!

Not sure where you planned on going, but I did wheelers pass last weekend and there was barely any, not even enough for the dogs to play in.

 

I was thinking angel peak and cruise around but I doubt with how warm it is today that snow will be long gone

 

Looks like this coming Monday has a pretty high chance of rain with some pretty low temperatures. Hopefully that means some fresh powder for the mountains.

 

Hello Las Vegas people. Gene here.
My wife and I will be moving from the New York City metro area (born and bred) to L.V. in mid-March.
We purchased a house in the Centennial Hills section of L.V. (I think it's considered North Vegas???).
We have been travelling back and forth between Vegas / Southwest and New York for the past 16 years for vacation and whatnot. Always loved the area. Finally going to make the next trip permanent.
Our NY house sold in a day. The closing is in March so we will be sticking around NY until then.
Just wanted to introduce myself now. I'm sure come march I'll be hitting you all up for some info, local advice, etc !

Also if anyone’s on the mountain today, there are a lot of fucking idiots out so be careful. Hate to crash a nice truck into some dipshits Corolla

 

That is why I wait a week or two until all of the Hyundais are gone. Everybody goes up to Charleston, it’s a breeding ground for “oh my god it’s snow”. You have to broaden your horizons lol.

 

It’s insane isnt it?! We were gonna cruise up some fire roads but the snow was wayyyy deep so we weren’t comfortable going alone. Not a lot of horizons to broaden on when the snow is above(ish) 2000 feet though. Afraid it’s gonna be melted by the weekend. This guys (in the picture) doesn’t looked stoked but he ran like A bat out of hell.

Welcome. I also live in Centennial Hills, and 2 years ago moved from Albany. I haven't been off-road too much, but Vegas is awesome.

@Nigelcorn Thanks. I know Albany well. I currently line in Rockland County and grew up in Staten Island. I haven't wheeled much either here in NY but the plan is for that to change once we're out in LV.
The 1st order of business when we are transplanted in 6 weeks is getting an inground pool installed. Then we can focus on getting out and wheeling.

 

I'm heading up with the family tomorrow morning, hopefully I can get up there before the morons that park in the snow on the side of the road next to the No Parking At Any Time sign

Can someone tell me why I never get emails about watched forums? I'm "watching" the vegas forum, but never get emails unless I am on the forum at the time. Is this normal?

 

Have you tried to click “unwatch” then click “watch” again and choose the option to receive emails notifications? If so I’ve got nothing.

 

the line head up to Mt Charleston at around 1130 today was INSANE... glad we were on the way down
