Anyone know exactly where the VSS A is located. Believe or not I even call the Toyota dealership parts dept. and they couldn't give me a location.
I have replaced the driverside and passenger side VSS sensor on the trans, all four tires VSS and still I get a P0500 code.

Okay today I think I narrowed it down to a location for VSS Sensor A. I used a toner/tracer and also using my 05 Tacoma manual and found the colors for the wires that lead to the sensor. Red/yellow and a white wire. Behind the glove box (battery disconnected) I located the wires and peeled back the insulation and attached the toner/tracer and using the handheld sound toner, it led me out of the cab into the engine compartment to a large wire cluster (wire loom) that is mounted on the back of the firewall. Then continued down to the right side of the transmission. Okay I thought it would lead me to the passenger side VSS sensor but nope. The toner led me to Park/Neutral position switch. Having some doubt, I continued all around the under carriage of the truck, just to be sure, but the toner still led me back to the P/N position switch.
So? Now what? I found the Red/Yellow wire in the connector and check the wire harness and didn't see any breaks.

Hopefully I finally found my Sensor A. Stay tuned.
