Are you looking to tap the VSS for an aftermarket GPS head unit? I went down this rabbit hole when I installed mine in my 2009 and was never successful in finding the correct wire. Lots of tiny delicate wires tightly bundled up under the dash and messing with them too much is a risk. They are so delicate that you can easily cut one by just baring the conductor or crimping on a tap. Then you have to repair it. Ask me how I know. :-/ You don't really need it, IMO. Works just fine without.

There is no VSS on automatic trucks, the speed signal is supplied to the instrument cluster by the ABS module and the cluster then supplies it to the PCM and other modules that need it.

    I'm asuming your chasing a P0500?

Haha I get the “vehicle speed sensor disconnected” on my aftermarket head unit every time I start the truck. Never understood it. I gave up without even trying to figure out why it won’t read the obd data.

At least on the 2012+ trucks i know there is a speed wire to the headunit which will lock functions of the stock headunit out at speeds above like 3mph or something. Yeah that pin got removed real quick when i got my truck.
