Watching the news this week regarding rivers, creeks flooding low spots in roads, seeing stalled out cars, trucks reminded me of a story. Over 25 years ago when the Feather River was flooding, some HS kids were partying outside Quincy by Oakland Camp, one low crossing over Spanish Creek was flooded, a kid with a Karmann Ghia tried to cross, car stalled. While he walked to the party to get help, watched the headlights go bobbing down the creek. :) They found it the next summer down steam in the Feather River along Hwy 70. A car compactor couldn't have done a better job. Looked like it went thru a food vacuum sealer. :)
Really amazing how many people are making the news who tried to make it thru flood waters over roadways.

Another thing, in a class I took at Feather River College, we talked about how far you could swim in snow melt before you cramped up and could no longer function.
