Vendor says no to 885's and 5100's!!

    Define "No issues". You can do it, but for one thing, lift will be maxxed out, and there will be no daown travel. Second, thats an awfull lot of force to be applied to that spring seat, and if removing in the future, it can break, possibly sending someone to the hospital. Been there.....done that.....got the bill.

    I'm pretty sure Chris is reffering to warranty issues more than pre loading a spring...

    But I will say that as long as a coil (any coil) is dimentionally correct to the stock in regards to HOW it sits on the perch (i.e; the same) It shouldn't be an issue as far as bilstein goes to honoring a warranty, regardless of what the guys at counter say....

    yes. They will affectively lift the truck the full amount of down travel, so 4". It should ride pretty close to a waggon.

    Trust me. There ARE issues. Too much lift, not enough Caster, and rides like a wagon.

    You should research more before doing somthing to somones truck that could be potentally dangerous.

    Holy crap. I used spring compressors like that to do my 885s and it was sketchy. Those looks like they are on the verge of exploding.

    So a low-pressure, twintube shock(OME) meant to be used with their coils, is the same as a high-pressure monotube(Bilstein) meant for stock coils?
    I know some do it; even at the 0 setting, it doesn't seem right to me.

    After the last time using those when i noticed one was cracked after using it, ill never use a pair of those compressors again. So damn lucky it didnt break while it was sitting on his leg...broken femurs are very painful.

    The 5100's are going to be more firm around town, while the OME stuff is gonna be a little softer.
