vent cleaning window was down.......

I was stuck and was getting pulled out of a mud pit, well i had the window down and when the wheel spun it splashed some mud into the truck. its all clean and shampooed now i just could not figure out a good way to clean the vents off, not just in the slits but also down the tube. u have to pull the dash apart i assume

any ideas or hacks or tools that clean them nicely?

 

will a toothbrush fit?
if not, a bottle brush?

aquarium type bristle brush for filters?

 

or a gun cleaning brush?

id use aerospace 303 on whatever brushes fit

I would also be tempted to crank the A/C while following Justus' idea...

 

you can pull the dash off quiet easily... and then you wont have to fight those vent slats.. it will just be a big open hole...

Could you wait for it to dry and then use the crevice tool on a shop vac to get it out.

off topic, but can you remove the seatbelt light and high beam light while youve got the cluster off??

 

probably. I used black electrical tape on the back of my cluster for certain lights i didnt want to see

 

but i dont want to see the tape... im anal about that stuff. i need to find the bulbs and remove them or cut some wires.

 

u wont see it on the BACK of the cluster tho right?
