I have the tape-on style. They came on the truck when I got it back in 2012. Been holding up well so far. Been pondering going in channel.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I have the original Weathertech in-channel visors in my 2014 that I purchased for my 2006 and had in my 2013, now that is quality! I did have one blow out on the highway once, Weathertech sent me new rears for free, now that is customer service! You would NEVER get me to put tape on my paint for the others, I'd sooner take a fork to the eyeball.

I put some in channel ones on my 2005 when it was new. They are still in the truck and look great. They've been through automatic car washes and years sitting out in the Texas sun. I'll check the brand. I can't remember where I got them.

My only complaint is that they seem to have scratched up the top half inch or so of the window. I think it's from dirt getting trapped between the glass and the plastic visor, scratching the glass as the window goes up and down. Maybe if I cleaned the windows more often this wouldn't have happened.

Edit: they are marked Auto VentShade Lawrenceville, GA. I guess what's what you guys are calling AVS. I'd recommend them, assuming their quality is what it was 11 years ago.

Have PUTTCO in channel chrome visors on mine, they look great, really like them. The only problem with chrome verses smoke or tinted is that the chrome creates a huge blindspot with the pillars in front. It takes a lot of getting used to looking around them. Otherwise they are great.

I have EGR in-chnnel ones and have been running them for about a year now. It took a week or so for them to fully set, but they're all good now. I cleaned out each channel with some rubbing alcohol, and the original tape is still sticking strong. These are invaluable in the FL heat.

AVS in channel, almost 4 yrs now with no issues.

I had stick ons for my 06 Colorado but they were free and if I remember right they didn't make in channel for that truck. Never had any real issues with them but given the choice in channel is the way
