I highly doubt it's bad parts or driving habits, or some one-time aggressive stop that you did. most likely culprit is the dealer ripping you off. Does the truck stop? Did you bring it in because of a brake problem? Do yourself a favor and find a place you can pull one of the wheels and inspect them yourself.

Unless you run the pads all the way down and are grinding metal into the rotors or they warp, you can typically just replace the pads. If you do carve the pads into the rotors, you can typically get them cut a few times before they need replacing. If the brakes truly are bad, then $700 is just plain silly. These trucks are the easiest brake job I have ever done. if you can't do it yourself because of where you live, take it somewhere else and steer clear of that dealer.

Something is fucky with this with such low miles. And if you spend over ~$250ish, that is because you want to.

I am at 210k miles on original rotors and pads on a truck that has regularly towed and been over 15-20k pounds gross.

Although I am in a 2500, that is still some really shitty equipment for a light duty vehicle.

Surely someone is pulling your chain or your riding the brakes hard.
I've got 109,000 miles on my 2011 and I have yet to touch the brakes, though I suspect it is coming quite soon. FYI, I will do it myself. Discs are trivial and drums aren't much more difficult.

As far as i know my rotor is warped. The pads are still at 70%
The pads can be sanded? and reapplied to new rotors.
Its now turned into $430 Canadian.
That is 1 hr labour plus cost of rotors.

Thats very strange, rotors should last at least double that. Really sucks man, just replace it yourself, fuck the dealership. It really is not that hard. I know you said you live in a condo but maybe your buddies house or parents or something.

I live in a condo and it sucks balls. I go to my parents house to do maintenance. Then my dad looses his shit if i spill a drop of oil haha. Condo life... im seriously considering moving to nanaimo.

There no way you should need rotor with the pads not worn. Have them check the calipers see if they getting stuck happen to my sienna. Toyota replace for free. Or just take them off bring to get machine

I believe the OP said he was chasing a vibration which could be warped rotors. Normal wear of a rotor should last the life of at least 2 sets of pads.

    Yeah.
My 2009 came off the lot with a bad rotor. It's tough to find places that turn rotors these days, easiest to just recycle the old rotors and get new ones, they aren't that expensive. And you can't fix a warped rotor by turning it.

Had over 50k on the 2011 I traded on this one, pads still had more than half their
material left & rotors looked new.

How much do brake jobs cost at the dealer or a shop? I've always found good deals on good stuff for about 100-150$ and done it myself.

That still seems expensive... I'd offer to help with the parts costs (I'm at the dealer in Surrey), but Toyota Canada has these on back order at the moment.
