I have been looking at upgrading to this from my droid 1.. Still unsure if I will or not, havnt heard alot about it other then its fast!

I am not in the loop on what phones are due to come out this year, I would like a phone that has a keyboard aswell as touch (like the droid 1/2), and be on 4g with the simultaneous voice and data.

Any imput on if I should get the thunderbolt or just wait?

Thanks for the info, I work in a metal shop so i like having the keyboard. Not sure I can deal with a all touch phone.

I can get the X for free (as well as the INC). The Tbolt will run 175. Would you guys who came from those 2 phones say the money is worth it. Can't remember the last time I paid from a phone lol.

id say the price is worth it, i have had the x, inc, d1, d2, ally, fascinate, and by far the tbolt is my favorite. it has the about the same battery life as the inc and x and the screen is only challenged by that of the fascinate, however the fascinate is still on 2.1 not 2.2 like the bolt, sense 2.0 has alot of skins that you can over lay which is nice as well, im just waiting for the thing to be rooted well it is but i guess i should say i waiting for the guys over at unrevoked to push out a 1click method.

while my area does not have 4g i received a tip yesterday that a tower was testing the 4g so i took a drive last night and 4g effin rocks i was over 10mb down and up my speedtest.net app was on overload ha ha

I'll say this, the bolt is pretty damn fast, and looks awesome too, but i can't deal with the battery life. I have followed all the instructions on the droid forums on how to save battery life, and it does help, but still isn't up to par. I am going to return it and wait for the incredible 2. Even though it won't be 4g capable.

my battery life has been pretty good since i killed the 4g signal search, another reason i got the bolt was to lock in my price plan for another 2years because i know when that 4g price plan comes out its gonna bite and ill still have my unlimited (yea right 5gb cap) plan

yeah, I hear shutting off 4g helps alot, how do you do it anyway? Verizon said it's not possible. Also, since we got the 4g plan for 39.99 a month, can't they increase that anytime they want?

if they increase it you should be able to leave vzw without a early termination fee since its not what you signed your contract for,

download this app from the market phone info by dev SC@taiwan
whens its downloading open it 1. click on phone information 2. scroll down to the drop down menu it should say CDMA+LTE.EvDo auto CHANGE that to cdma auto prl, 3. back out to your home screen.

    thats pretty much it :)

How do you guys feel about the Iphone on VZW? I have always liked the iphone. I am not a fan boy, but they are real sleek phones. The one thing that keeps me thinking about the iphone is pandora through the USA Spec adapter for the Taco. I use my iTouch with it and love it. Having pandora through the radio would kick ass. I could do it with the droid phones, but I would have to use the Aux in correct?

I have had a crappy phone for a while now, ready for my first smartphone. I am not into buying a new phone all the time. (in fact, I have never paid for a phone lol) so I want to make the best choice. I don't have 4G in my area and not sure when it will be.

you could just get a wireless transmitter to use your android based phone to listen on your stock radio, i could care less for the iphone and its 1 button seriously? they call it multitasking but you need to back out with your one button to complete any other task? ill pass

Verizon 4G LTE connection speeds tethered from my HTC Thunderbolt. (had to tether because the speedtest app wasn't giving me the right speeds. they were WAY too high.

And I'm about 45 min east of Atlanta, and not even supposed to be in a 4G area.

Dude, I am on a old Flip style motorola. Color just came out when I got this lol. A few people that work for me have the iphone and it just feels sweet in my hand. Plus, the ipod adapter is a lot better than the a wireless transmitter. I dunno really. I guess I am leaning towards the free DX, DINC or D2. If the Tbolt was like 50 bucks (hah right lol) I would be on it. paying for a phone is sticker shock by itself, 175 bucks for a phone lol. My asshole puckers every time I think about. I am either too cheap or too far behind mobile times hah ha.

    You don't want to know...

Its limited in the tethering in some way.

The network is actually designed to deliver 50Mbps to the end device...
Obviously this would only be if the transport to the site could support it, you had a perfect signal from the site, and no one else was connected to that site.

I average 20Mbps upload and download, but have had spikes up to almost 40.
