Collecting parts for the upcoming frame swap!20D2F446-DD88-43C5-84EE-03A674EFA025.jpg

    Nervous as hell!!!!
Glad I got to keep mine until it happens. I was offered a loaner and I said sure but the truck comes home with me.
He’s like yea that’s not gonna fly.
Can’t have them both so I kept my truck. No way it’s gonna set there for months.
I also have a rear bumper skin not sure but thinking I’ll do that myself here. I’ve got to take the bolts out to reinstall my avid bars anyway.
I’ve pulled my bars and extra lights. I swapped my grill to the stock one. And will swap to stock rims and remove the tonneau and sub before it goes. It will be buffed and polished also.

Hopefully all goes well with your frame swap.

I recently had an alignment done after I installed 5100's up front and the guy at the service desk told me that my frame is covered until 2022. As long as I get the frame treated before 5/21/19. So he basically told me to run the truck this winter to see if anything develops and then have it inspected & treated before 5/21. I'm kinda hoping they find some tender spots. Where abouts did they find a problem(s) with your frame?

Yes your 2010 is covered for 12 years from in service date.
I was going to wait until next summer but had stopped trying to stop it rusting also.
The tech at the shop I use knows my truck I have them put it on a lift so we can hammer test it.
Showed him what I had found after pressure washing the frame He said I don’t think that will do it.
Talked me into just stopping in and having someone look. 4A340A3C-1AF3-4680-9FE9-41C7486E9A43.jpg
This is driver side front the hook is tie down. Looks like the weld is missing?

This is kinda how the rest looked at the end of winter.
I haven’t been taking care of the tire thing since Toyota’s crc just to compare.

Just dropped my ride off for the frame swap.
3rd time I’ve meet the man doing it and I’m feeling pretty good about it. The frame swap is not at the stealership but being done at a separate location owened or rented by stealership.
    Got a 17 sr5 4banger auto.
What a dog. Not a trans I’d want, and to make it go it about redlines between shifts.
Power everything is cool the seats are not that comfortable in my opinion I’d loose the headrest I think.
I like the blue and and the creature comforts until the electric gremlins appear.
Figured I’d be worried about mine but once “Jim” takes possession it’ll be ok.
Lol I just keep telling myself this!!!!

Well here we go it’s started!
Feeling pretty good about the swap now thank you Jim!!
Good guy walked me thru what he’s done and will do.
Says I’d done good and he didn’t need to torch any bolts. He’s greasing exposed threads that torques won’t be affected. Says he has an accumulation of spare hardware and will replace most of what was not supplied with frame.

    208DFB37-E69E-4E31-939B-E653DA0EF52D.jpg
Says it will be done tomorrow but won’t be ready until Monday.
He also mentioned the Tacoma world sticker in my back window and said he wasn’t surprised at the maintenance that’s been done.
Not the first anal taco owener he’s had.

Even though I have the 17 taco I miss mine and I’m sure you do also.

Hey, where exactly did they find the rust on the frame that deemed it worthy of a swap?

Lol 10yrs from in service missed by 6 months!
I did the filter mod years ago but mine seemed ok!
I also added a Sheid so it wouldn’t get a lot of water when puddle busting.
My 08 didn’t get the extra plastics I believe or mine is missing but I’m ok with this.
    03C152FB-C208-484E-9A1E-0F61413538AD.jpg
It has holes in the bottom so water can drain.
Not sure about others but dang hit a good size puddle and it mostly comes over the hood and windshield.
The 17 I have has dirty water spots on roof from kingman and main the other night. It was epic wish I had my dash cam.
