Yea we are not ready for them.

 

We've been spared from the worst here in Cabot. Our neighbors downstream in Plainfield really got it hard on July 10th and everything after that has been like a kick in the balls when you're already down. The NEK is really taking a beating too. Lyndonville, St. J. and Burke have been really ripped apart, other towns in the area too, I'm sure.

Saw my first Truck while on my trip to Italy to support DragonHeart Vermont at their world championship dragonboat races. A Toyota HiLux. Do not see any trucks at all especially full size. Also saw a Mercedes Truck. This is on the Northeastern side on the Adriatic Sea. Super ritzy for this Vermonter lol

 

When I was in Germany, I asked a friend who had a Suzuki pickup why you don’t see many trucks.
He explained it has to do with high taxes.
Apparently,they tax the “footprint” of the bed and tax the imaginary square meters of “air” that the bed can hold.

Another friend in Austria who has a small collection of cars and bikes has only two license plates for his cars and bikes.
When he takes one out,he puts a plate on it. When he takes another car out,he swaps plates.
Government says you can only drive one at a time, lol.
Pretty cool concept.

Leaves turning over there yet ?

 

Greetings - they've been dull green for a couple weeks now, but just starting to see some color in the tips here and there. Nothing drastic up here yet. Can't wait, my favorite time - always a beauty when they are all in pastels, then the nice white snow.


Been away for a bit with crappy summer stuff and some other issues to muddle through. But with the nicer weather coming there'll be more fun on the way again as I come out of hibernation. Speaking of, it's been just over a year now with the latest taco. I was waiting to see whether I still liked it enough (first auto trans since the 80's and such...) before I started minor hacking and slashing. "I guessssss I'll keep it..." Began grabbing some misc stuff, making mounts, hidden mods, etc.


I was just going to get the traction boards to help get around in the perpetual VT mud, then decided to get some other mid level stuff to keep along and add to for stuckiness help. Better to have, etc... I'll probably end up using the boards more with the atv in the snow on my hill than for the truck. Wet snow gets me every time....
