Back from the dead, not that anyone noticed because I barely ever post anyway :p But a few questions for you guys. 1 being where do you guys do trail driving. 2 anyone live in my general area (St Johnsbury, Danville, Walden, Cabot, Hardwick etc). And finally, the dreaded frame rot question. This one is a little different however. I just got the truck last November, put a flatbed on it, lifted it with the typical Bilstein 5100s and AAL, etc etc. I bought the truck having been told the frame had been replaced in the summer of 2013, and it had been. But in only 2 years the front half of my frame looks pretty crusty. When doing the struts there was rust flaking from the strut towers, and just about everywhere else that salt could fly onto and stay. So my question is, anyone ever have a frame replaced TWICE? The middle and rear sections were solid enough, but the very tail end was pretty nasty for only being 2 years old. Most of the factory paint is already gone, and to prolong the rear I did the proper 3 step POR15 treatment when the bed was off, but the front is still a concern. Looking forward to your input :)

Believe me that was the plan for the next week or so. I've been working on this thing non stop for 2 months. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced the same thing with a new frame. Seems most people have had good luck with them. I don't think the previous owner had ever heard of a car wash so that doesn't help much. Ive done just about everything I can to prolong the life of the frame except paint the front half of it so far. fluid filmed it heavily on the outside, plugged up all the factory holes with wax, sprayed the inside rails out multiple times with a power washer before spraying in a bar and chain oil + melted wax mix inside it. Just dreading doing the front section with paint, because getting fluid film completely off has proven to be a nightmare for me even with heavy degreaser. Not to mention it was basically like this when I bought it (rust wise), I love the truck but if I was to do it again Id go south and get one, because if the frames look this bad after 2 years it's worth the road trip for me. But I got it for a song because the bed was rotten, so can't complain too much.

I will definitely be going, not sure if I'll participate though, my truck is more of a pavement princess because it's the only daily I have at the moment. I'd like to off road it some but I'm too afraid of messing something up bad enough to the point where I wouldn't be able to drive it. I'm having the guy that made my flatbed make a plate bumper for it so after that I'd be more open to beat on it a little I think.

I wont dip in either, we're bringing a jeep that were going hammer on instead. In the process of trying to get a deuce and a half up for it. That might be a stretch.

The couple that came last year pretty much dominated lol. I went through the tamer section in my buddies stock 98 Silverado. It shoved the driveshaft through the floor. Still drove home though. I don't care for Chevy but that was impressive
