I can only assume they really loosened up on the 3rd Gens, mine really needs a good shove to go past the 1st-2nd Gate to get over to Reverse. The 15 is pretty finicky too as it rarely lets me in Reverse the first try, usually takes 2 or 3 times.

I'd keep both of the trucks (can't say about the wife lol). That 1st-gen looks so clean and they are just cool trucks, in general. As for the 3rd-gen, it's still a great DD truck. You don't have to like it as well as your 1st gen (although eventually you might), but it's still a great truck. I'd roll with both, you can't go wrong.

So you wouldn't drive it the day you go to pick it up? If something were wrong you could pass on buying it.

After waiting 3 months for the order to come it, it's hard to pass.

I went in with a list of shit to check, I think I left the list on my sales guys desk as I just wanted to get in and drive. I checked for a few things, but no where near what I wanted. I wouldn't have picked up on too many things.

Waiting for over 90 days was wicked hard, the last few days were almost impossible. As much as I agree with the test drive it statement, shit happens and excitement takes over.

My Dealer has like an indoor showcase for when you buy, kinda hard to test drive it at that point.

No. You just slam it over and up but you can tell where first would be. It's not bad.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Is it the fact that they like to be seen in a $2000 vehicle instead of a $40,000 one, or that the 8 track still plays the Fonzie songs ?

I did try driving around in sports mode, and it helps the transmission shifting issues. It should always shift like this. It was much more enjoyable driving around with out the transmission constantly shifting. Liking it more.

My son bought a 2005 Tacoma 4 cyl Auto. You couldn't pay me enough to drive that POS every day. It justs beats you to death on bad roads and has no power.

I found my 2015 2nd gen beat me to death also with the V6. Not a smooth ride at all.

    It's more like a 10k vehicle and a 2k stereo.

    Dream on.
KBB lists it at 2K in VG condition. Check it out.
What you think you have in it is not worth it to someone looking to buy, period.

2K stereo ? That's even more ridiculous than the original post.
Why put more in a stereo than the vehicle is worth ???

Well where I live it's worth 10k all day long in northern cal. 2001 Trd manual Tacoma with all the goodies. And the stereo has been built over time. Kbb can suck it. And yea my first post was a bit of a ramble.

Wow a freakin whole 10K maybe. We can retire now eh ?
    Isn't even worth discussing IMO.
10K are upgrades in a new Taco, suspension, tires, rims, lighting, etc.
    Let it go.
