I was kinda surprised by it too. The tape is inside the window channel on the outside surface of the vent. I had expected the vent to have a 'U' that wedged into the top of the channel, but it really only sits on the outside of the glass. I think there is another (more expensive) vent that has a 'U' and no tape. I forget the brand though.

    Pop n lock.

Didn't want to spend even more money replacing a perfectly good tailgate that was stolen.

I'm with ya. :( I bought mine and realized they are almost useless as steps. I went out yesterday to tighten the one that was rattling, and damn near decided to take them off. But I want sliders first, so they'll stay on for a little longer.

nice! Which ones did you get? I'm still trying to make up my mind. Since I can't afford them right now it doesn't matter, so I'm still researching.

Roo guard and tail lamp grills, pistol safe, console safe, emergency lights and Big Sky overhead gun racks at the same time.
The guard should have been lower. I dinged the front lics. plate area thanks to our friendly snow plow driver`s berm. It does wrap around enough to nudge open a gate.
The TRD Off Road came with what the dealer had added. It was his ride `till 7,200 mls.
He switched to a Tundra, which he needs like a hole in the head. But he sold it to me for less than he had in it, and had to replace a topper lock, N/C.
