just to clarify......this filter is just a replacement for the OEM one without any other modifications right? I have a 06 TRD 4.0L

I just ordered one from Streetside. $59.xx with free shipping.

If there was a discount code, I forgot to use it, but $6 isn't going to break me.

are you guys removing the secondary air filter as well? or just leaving it and dropping in the AFE Filter?

I'm looking at getting one as well...

I spray on some of the K&N filter cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse it well with the kitchen faucet. I wouldn't use anything that puts high pressure on the filter material. Also rinse it with the water flowing the reverse direction that air flows through the filter. That way it doesn't push the dirt further into the filter material. Just my $.02.

I just got done installing one of these yesterday. I was really impressed with the increase in throttle response over stock. I have a feeling that my MPG will drop because I really like to listen to it pull air. This is the second AFE I have purchased as I had one of these on my 2001 Ford F250 with the 7.3 Diesel. I was so impressed with that kit that I got the one for the Taco.

When I ordered mine the discount code was "SAVE". It might still work if anyone is condsidering ordering one from there. If that doesn't work then try "RENEW1510"... just got that in an email from them.

Just got mine from streetsideauto. Installed in about 30 seconds. There is a slightly "throaty" sound which is nice. I feel a better throttle response as well. Happy with the purchase.

Anybody tracking MPG's? Any improvement with the AFE pro dry? I've been driving my V6 truck in really dusty conditions and plan on swapping out the OEM. I noticed the 4 bangers were getting better but didn't hear anything on the V6's.

just installed the filter and cant really say i notice a difference in throttle response, like everyone claims. i do notice a slight "growl" between 3-4000 rpm's. on a positive note, i do save by not buying another filter ever again
