Can't reproduce intentionally, but every now and then I get mild to violent shimmy while braking and it's repeatable for a few minutes, and then it's not.??!?!
New front brakes, and rotors are within spec. No difference. Wheels all balanced - no difference.

Can control arm bushings or ball joint cause rare severe shimmy? Seems it would be much more consistent. Other possibilities?

Tie rod end? (daughter in laws Edge did that and I found a bad tie rod end)
Sticking caliper intermittently heating up the rotor?

Definitely sounds like warped rotors to me with possible bad struts?? I know you said brakes were replaced but this is just such a common symptom of brakes

@Mankx here's my story. Had the same symptoms that I drove around on for a few years even though I knew what the problem was. Finally had enough and replaced the rotors, pads and added a second spring clip. That was four years ago and four years without steering wheel shake or brake pad slap. Morale of my story, pads and rotors should be replaced.

Highly recommended read on StopTech Rotors.

Rotors I purchased. They were less than half this price in 2019 when I bought them. Wonder what happened?

    the factory rotors shake.

mine did. No crazy driving. Turned them straight on a lathe. Shortly after they shook again. Maybe a month later.

upgraded to Stoptech cryo slotted. No more shaking.

wouldn’t put factory rotors on it if you paid me to.
