The Hilux has been around for quite some time and it on it's 8th generation. The cap makes it look even more different than our Tacos. Are you in the UK or Australia?

Lol I couldn't wait for a Friday post. I'm in Scotland for two weeks.

The Hilux are everywhere but to be honest I've been much more interested in all the Defender 90s.

Hilux is not a Tacoma . It’s it’s own truck . Personally I like the older version of them they looked better .

Looks too much like an SUV, to me.

That front end looks very VW-ish.

It's like a minivan but with a soundproof spill-proof compartment for the little goblins.

    I'd drive it.

Weird rumor I always heard is that pickups in the UK need a hard shell, as local hooligans have been known to walk up whenever you're stopped in traffic, reach over the bedrails and run off with whatever's not bolted down.

I always prefer the bolder and crisper looks of vehicles in the US. Not a fan of the Hilux, the overseas Colorado. It's probably the biggest reason I can't stand the new Ranger since they barely changed it from the overseas version. Too rounded for my taste, maybe? I'll take my 3rd gen Tacoma's looks any day of the week.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the ranger when I saw that Hilux picture. I can’t stand the way the new one looks.

My first car was an old Ford Escape and that thing was a tank in terms of reliability. I would have given the new Ranger more consideration when truck shopping if it looked less goofy.

I usually find all Ford trucks to be pretty ugly at first but they later grow on me. The Ranger on the other hand...

I have to wonder if the lines on that C Pillar was purposefully done to invoke nostalgia

Looks like a Ranger. I'm scared for the 4th gen Tacoma. I can easily imagine Toyota going for that look on the next Tacoma, but with a huge grille to match the Tundra.

I would drive a Colorado before a Hilux. Hilux is Ridgeline territory.

I like it. Add a turbo diesel and your looking at mid 30's for mpg.

I was going to say Ridgelinish, but didn't want to get run out of town.

Nah, the Tacoma is designed by Americans for the US. It's very unlikely to have that rounded euro transport van esthetic. Though the weird Lexus mouth grill is probably inevitable.
