Not sure where to start but I've decided to search for my old tacoma. I had it for 10 years, got it at 16, and should have never traded it in. It was a 2009 timberland mica double cab short bed 4x4 auto. It had a 6 inch lift, borla exhaust, xd revolver 17x9. Pioneer radio. It was traded in on dec 7, 2018 at Empire Chevrolet(now McNiell Chevrolet) and was said to have been shipped to Kentucky but a friend saw it in Winston, NC just a few months later. Would love to know what came of it and possibly get it back if the current owner would let me! Any help appreicated!!!

Pic is my last pic of it. Didnt have the roof rack any longer and had a color matched 2011 grille on it.

If you still have the VIN you can track down the owner

If you don't find anything with the VIN, check with your insurance company or any shops you had service done at. Might be a lost cause, but some places probably at least have digital invoices somewhere for tax purposes. Maybe you'll have luck at a parts store from buying something and they have the vin/vehicle listed on your account with them. I'd say you'll have a hard time finding it without the VIN. Depending on how extremely serious you are, you can hire a private investigator to locate it. Only thing that sucks is you risk paying that much money to someone who has no obligation to actually put you in contact with the owner. If they locate it and talk to the owner, and the owner has no interest speaking with you, that's all there is to it, and nothing more you can do. If you're not that invested, try to just put out as much info as you can about it everywhere you can. TW is great, but its only a small population of tacoma owners. Check local FB groups.

I'm also on some Facebook groups searching. Probably not a PI situation but i sure would love to have her back.

I'm guessing Timberland Mica is marketing speak for Green?

    Just for inspiration:

A friend of mine's mother bought 1983 corvette new and kept it for several years until her husband had enough of it (they were crappy cars back then) and traded it in. Some decades later they were in New Jersey and she found the car.

I don't think she was looking but still shows hope that your long shot is possible.
