Are they? They just have a flag on them and say veteran and that to me is not a vanity plate due to the fact it is a standard plate and not a one off design. Besides that you missed my point. NY ST is just taking the money and giving it to the welfare programs and whatever other BULLSHIT programs our PIECE of SHIT GOVERNOR and his thieving cronies in office want to buy or for the huge raise they just voted for themselves for doing nothing except screwing us working people . For that reason why spend the money for anything NY ST offers you will only be throwing good money to bad programs. If you live in this state you would understand what I was getting at. I would have no problem paying for a vanity plate if #1 I needed it, #2 the money was being donated to benefit wounded warriors instead of welfare programs #3 I wanted it and it was a one of a kind plate. For those reasons it is a waste of money to get a vet plate.

For sure, the money should be used to benefit a veteran oriented program and not just tossed in the pot with everything else. Regardless of the design being a flag and the word veteran they are still most definitely vanity plates. If people didn’t want the recognition that comes with them they would just buy standard plates and donate to a veteran charity.

Calif Veterans lic plate is actually a Honoring Veterans Vanity plate . The initial cost to register for this plate is $78 and after that a yearly $40 is added to your vehicle registration

All collected fee's for this plate go directly to CalVet assoc , CalVet provides for Veteran Advocacy , benefits and other services for Veterans of California
