Believe me I will remember why I left NY. I hate everything NY stands for. when I get out of here I told my family and friends they will have to come south to visit me because I have no interest in going back to NY.

I have a plate for New Mexico. If you're over 50%, you get 2 plates and are exempt from registration--disabled vet plates. Or you can get you branch plates for a fee. They take care of us pretty good, i.e. hunting licensing..etc. I am cautious as well, but have had zero issues here. I dont do the sticker thing, so this is the only identifier.

 

Oregon does permanent vet plates for folks with a VA rating. Being anonymous when there's a ton of (ex) mil where I live isn't that big of a thing for me, so ..

 

Texas you get Disabled Vet plates if your VA rating is 50% or or higher. The first set is $3/annual and includes a handicap placard, the additional plates are the standard actual fee, except you still get access to handicap parking. I haven't looked into the special badge plates.

 

I've been running Vet plates for about 20 years now along with A Vietnam service ribbon. Never had any problems or unwanted attention Only a few or sometimes fellow brothers wanting To talk when getting fuel.

 

I've been pulled over twice while active rocking my stickers, not my plates. Each time ended as a," have a nice day and don't be a tard."

 

I’m a 100% disabled Vet and in WV, you get a DV plate free.

 

At 100% here in Texas, property taxes are free, but only your first set of plates is discounted to $3. I need to ask again about my bike, but from Wyatt I remember only your first vehicle is exempt from the annual tax and additional vehicles remain standard rate.

 

That's cool, I'm only 50% so I pay for mine but that's OK, The money goes for a good cause.

 

When I live in the Midwest I had some. Cops appreciate Americans here.

When I lived in California I had State plates. They target Americans out there.

Here a handicap placard is only if there is the same physical impediment anyone else would get one for. Doesn’t matter if you’re 100% or not. Not complaining, as I’d say that’s fair, just commenting on how ours is done.
