If anyone is interested, we can track veterans discounts here for car related discounts. Just ask for it and be prepare to show your military ID or something proving you are a active or veteran.
    • Carid.com offers a 10% veteran discount but I had trouble combining it with other discounts.
    • pepboys - Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, active and retired military customers can receive an additional 10% discount
    • Morris 4x4 - Military customers receive 5 percent off their Jeep parts and accessories purchases as well as free shipping for orders over $75.
    • 4wheelparts has also given me a veteran discount of 10% but I dont have details on how often they do this... so I just asked.
    • HomeDepot offers a 10% veteran discount of the total every day of the year. It can be combined with other offers.
    • Summit Racing- variable discount. Must order by phone, inform them that you are military and would like to use their military/racers discount. Active, retired, service connected.
    • Jegs- variable discount. Email customer service for directions on who to email your current orders to. I was told it was for active only.
    • Fred Meyers- last time I used it, it was 10% off non-sale items. Contact local store to fin out what days they offer military discount. For you old folks, also ask what days they offer the senior discount.
    • Autozone offers 10% off to Veterans.

There is a sticky over in the military forum. But,

It really varies by store and sales rep or manager. I just tend to ask every time I purchase something and show my california ID with the "Veteran" designation. I was just at the Natural History Museum here in LA and I asked if they had any type of veteran discount and I got in for free (I only had to pay for my daughter).

I was at Nellis from 94-98, spent a few months at riyadh eskan village in 97. I worked in the high voltage shop, and with low voltage and SMART teams. What shop where you in?

Damn Nellis was a nice base. Got to spend a couple weeks there.

Comparing Nellis to Lackland and Sheppard (where i got to spend some time), you are right... it was much nicer although I never really cared for Vegas. Maybe it was maintained better because of Red Flag.. We also used to have a federal prison within the base and the prisoners used to maintain and clean some areas.

I was there for a red flag. Vegas did get old after about 4 days. Was so ready to get home when one jet went down which caused me to be there for another week. At least I got to experience Dylan's get bucked.
