I just bought a VF Tuner from someone on here. Can I use his Reg Key or do I have to buy another one?

I don't think VFTuner is transferrable. What did you buy/receive, exactly?

The key is non transferable. You bought the cable. Considering OVTune is having supply issues with his cables right now, that might not be a bad thing. You will need to purchase the VFTuner software for $199.

    https://vftuner.com/collections/vf/products/vf-tuner-software

You will then need a tune to actually flash a truck. You can buy the OVT 2.0 tune pack directly from ovtune, or find yourself a user tune.

Sell me a license then, friend-o! I think I emailed your company around the same time I created the thread.

Finally getting a chance to start prepping for my tune and I have another question:

Can I still use my Sprint Booster in conjunction with a tune? As I understand it, a tune can make the throttle more sensitive but it would be nice to get the benefits of a tune with the option of using the SB to quickly make my throttle even touchier without messing with a tune on the trail.

If I can't use them at the same time, the SB is probably going up for sale or collecting dust. However, it does have a "pedal lock" feature for valeting and theft deterrence (I've never used either).

Do not use both at the same time. It will likely throw you into limp mode. I've seen it more than once.

There will be a somewhat similar setup later on for vF with the upcoming map switching.

The sprint booster tells the trucks computer it is getting a different throttle input than it is. The tune completely overwrites the computers programing making the booster unnecessary. As stated you do not want to use both at the same time.

I second the Valley Runner tune. I flash a lot of people with this tune, and everyone loves it!

Thank you very much, lads. You saved me so much time and money. The SB is now a loss but maybe someone who is scared of tunes will want it.
