Cool, thats what I figured but wanted to double check. Then for "reset ECU" I assume it's the "reset ECM"

    No problem.

Yes. Clear and Reset are the same situation. Hahaha!

    Strict consistency would be nice.

@Shellshock, I once again found myself referencing your post to flash VS. So, thanks for putting it together in such a readable format.

The staff here on TW have come to an agreement that all major tuning threads will remain locked for a while. Why you ask? We get endless reports and messages regarding tuners bickering with other tuners or other unacceptable behavior. We are sick and tired of the immature actions and this is the last straw. The threads will be unlocked in one week. If there is ONE more instance of bickering, shitting on a competitors thread, or any more reports, we will remove all tuning threads and block it from future discussion. This is the last chance.

Side note: BST rules still apply to tuners. Don’t join TW just to peddle your tunes without actively participating in the community or you will find yourself banned.

Haven’t tuned in a while. Vf tuner says I need to update, currently in version 1.5.7.22222
Says I’m up to date. I believe the newest version is 1.6 something. this program never seems to work seamlessly. Virus protection is off. Am I doing something wrong?

    You're out of date.

    Download from the vFTuner.com homepage.

For the life of me, I can no longer get the Flash tool in vfTuner 1.6+ to connect to my truck. The ODB connector has lights changing from blue to red to yellow, and the laptop detects the cable (per device manager), but it simply will not connect and read the ECM. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and VFtuner itself, but nothing is helping. Techstream isn't able to connect either.

I haven't flashed my truck in more than a year. Did something change in the Windows 10 OS during the last year that might affect connectivity? Anything that might prevent my ODB from connecting?

Try changing your USB cable. I had issues also and changed to a new USB cable and problem solved.

Good thinking. Unfortunately, just tried a second cable and that doesn't seem to do the trick. I know there used to be a few known issues with USB 3.0, but this is the same laptop I have used to flash my truck for several years now. The only real differences are a few updates for Windows 10 over the last 12 months.

Errors alternating between these two messages:
    error1.jpg
    error2.jpg

However, the drivers do appear to work in Device Manager:
