Dude the first step in #7 says "Open VF Tuner". You still need to click the Flash ECU button, click Prepare ECU, and then select the tune. They miss a step in the instructions here.

Yes I understand that, and I appreciate you trying to help. What I'm saying is, is that what you're pointing out simply isn't relevant here. Anytime you flash the truck's ECU you still need to go through the process that @tonered has laid out twice already in this thread, which is: open VF Tuner > click Flash ECU button > click Prepare ECU button (this checks that your VIN is registered and you don't need 4 additional credits to proceed) > select tune file > flash ECM

Agreed. Section 7 is stand alone.

@tonered I'm hoping you can help me a little. I purchased the VFTune bundle less than a month ago. I couldn't get to connecting to the truck until this past Tuesday morning. Updated the software and tried to follow the instructions to get my ECM number to send to PapaRee so I could purchase KDMax. At the time I could see the Calibrate ECM button. Once I got his tunes, I went back to load it and my Calibrate button is grayed out. Also, VFTune shows I only have one credit. I don't understand what happened to my credits. Tuesday afternoon I sent a message thru Zendesk and didn't hear back yet. Also, sent a private message thru the VF forum earlier this afternoon and haven't heard back. How quickly do they respond? I was hoping to have it installed before the weekend. My 2020 Pro is not feeling very "pro-like".

    No problem.

First, you should have had nine Credits total to start with. It sounds like you only got five?

The first step to flashing is always the Prepare ECU step. My guess is that you used four Credits to Unlock your VIN? When you hit Prepare ECU, it will show your the ECU ID and make the Calibrate ECM button active.

As OVT is a one person company, it can take a while to get replies.

Also note that fastest help comes from replying to your order confirmation message. Everything else has an uncategorized status in the back of the queue.

Yea, I thought it said five originally. But, by that point I was getting frustrated. Normally, I consider myself rather computer savvy since I've built multiple PCs. In my original zendesk message I forgot to put my order number, but put it on my message thru the VF forum. Will that work? On a side note, I've never been able to get Techstream to communicate with the Tachrix cable. Tried multiple things discussed on TW.

You don't have to worry, OVT can link up accounts through Zendesk. You don't have to include anything special there.

In the Setup menu, you need to select the Tactrix. From @Shellshock step-by-steps:

    26) Techstream will now show 5000+ days remaining in the lower left
    [IMG]

    27) In the top menu bar Click setup and VIM Select. Change the drop down to Openport 2.0. Click ok.
If this does not appear as an option in the drop down, you need to install the Tactrix drivers and plug in the cable.

** If you get a forced TS Critical Update prompt when trying to Connect to Vehicle, turn off wifi and try again. The 30 use countdown will restart if you accidentally Connect to Vehicle on wifi again.

Yea, it shows two of them. The only difference is one of them is 64bit. I've tried both of them.

You want the OpenPort / Tactrix drivers.
