Hi everyone. Considering jumping on the VF Tuner train. I know nothing about tuning. My question is should I buy the tune package add on or is there a shop/individual in the Bay Area that could do the tuning for me? Also what tunes are included in the tune package add on if anyone knows? Thank you in advance!

Hey there, I'm coming to the Bay area this Saturday to flash OV Tune 2.0 for anyone interested. This is a good option for those not wanting to buy VF Tuner and figure out how do modify tables, etc.

I'll post a thread for this, but feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

vF Tuner consumer version, what is discussed here mainly, is also a flashing tool that can flash pre-made tunes available as tune packs for your particular ECU. you do not need to tune from scratch. but you can further edit the pre-made tunes in vF if you want to get into it. for those wanting to flash good tunes you can simply do it in vF with no tuning expertise.

Got it. Are the tunes in the tune pack worth the price or should i hold out and keep trying to find someone that can help me out? Main things I’m looking for in the tune is better throttle response and shifting as well as some increases to mpg.

i don't have an AT so they can answer that but it looks solid from here. nobody around here is tuning from scratch... yet. well, except Magnuson for their SC apparently as they are using vF Pro, not regular vF. everything you see happening around here is based off OV's tune packs, which you can flash out of the box (several versions in your ECU's tune pack) and leave as-is or modify away like is happening now in some of the vF threads. if you get vF, the cable kit, and the tune pack for your ecu then you'll have options from a simple flash up to as complex as you wish.
