I have been driving with 04B04 Kruiser 4.0 now for a couple weeks. Probably 4 tanks of gas in and it's definitely settled in nicely. I'm back to the exact same mileage I was before. Leveled out at 13.7 which is about right for my heavy pig of a truck. Definitely noticeable performance gains and still seeing really nice shifting and holding gears like you'd have expected it to drive off the lot. No dead pedal like someone else described a while back, and when the torque demand increases a quick and minor blip of the throttle causes it to down shift nice and smooth. I did change the throttle map a little to eliminate the jumpiness at lower speeds which made this even more of a wicked ass tune. Really really loving how my truck drives on this one! Last month I was using differents versions of 04B04 Kruiser 4.0 .My taco only has rock sliders and 31.5 tires,no much weight added.Started with the premiun version, the performance gains was really good, smooth shifting,good power for pass traffic no matter the speed, climbing hills was really nice,no more weird downshitft.The only problem was that I used my Taco as a daily driver with lots of stop and go, traffic congestion and trying to maintain a smooth throttle was difficult.I sent a message to Kreig and he sent me a "light tip in" version of Kruiser 4.0.Much better but my wife didn't liked the touchy throttle on "the light tip in"version and I changed to OV 2.0.I sent another message to Kreig and he changed the throttle tip in again.Wow what a difference,all the power of Kruiser 4.0 but with a super smooth throttle,know driving the taco is another history,super happy with the modified tip in throttle(regular gas) of Kruiser 4.0.Driving the taco is effortless I don' have to think when or how hard I have to push the pedal.Mpg are good for my driving style.I think PapaRee K 4.0 is a huge improvement over Toyota software. I love the way my truck drives and Kruiser 4.0 "light tip in" is a keeper!(wife approved)Thanks PapaRee!

 

@PapaRee Another review of the Kruiser 4.0 tune. Great power increase and shifting is amazing. Super smooth. I really like how it holds gears longer before shifting down. Helps on the freeway. Holds speed really well on the freeway without downshifting or lugging. Mileage today (58 deg F) was running about 19.6 which is good for still being winter. Need to try it out towing now.

 

Yes I too love the k 4.0 but yeah tip in is lil too nasty for me .I thought that it would be great for the dunes or snow . When in doubt throttle out . Pin it to win it

 

I too will hopefully be trying the lighter tip in version .

Towing is good with it. If it is a heavy load, press the ECT button.

 

ECT is fun without towing! Way crazy acceleration.

 

The beauty of ECT is that what works best for towing is pretty much the same things that work best for a sport mode... more reactive throttle, holding gears longer. I never tow, but I sure use ECT often lol.

 

So anyone doing things with tunes these days...

Has anyone tried putting the Camry Airload tables in their tune...

I had to reset my laptop and had to put in my Master Key in again, but I was putting the wrong number in a few times. so now I've exceeded the amount of tries you can try and now I'm locked out. Any chance anyone know how long till it resets?

 

You have to request a reset from Ovtune. Send a zendesk ticket

@PapaRee 's 4.0 Kruiser premium netted me 24.2 mpg's, for the first 50 miles on a fresh tank of non ethanol premium, driving with my foot no cruise control. it is a definite improvement over stock. cant wait until the cruise tables, and more shift tables are opened. I am still not fully in love with the standard cruise shifting but, that is not on him or the tune, that is on my ocd, the toyota algorithm, and the available tables to work with, at this time . the truck is worlds better but, still hunts a bit too much for my liking, on slightly hilly terrain, over 55 mph with cruise engaged. driving by foot, the truck is absolutely INCREDIBLE! well worth the donations, and feedback. thanks buddy! hope your day is awesome! Kruiser 4.0 is pretty fun, I just started using it today. I feel like there is no way that I will keep getting the 14.5mpg I was getting before (because it's more fun to drive fast with this tune)... but maybe once I get used to the throttle more. Very nice driving so far, my gibson exhaust is screaming now, good thing I did sound dampening and insulation in the cabin.

So I was able to flash the tune by unlocking vin for 4 credits, but I cannot open the tunes without paying another 4 credits? I only had 5

 

Yeah Kruiser 4.0 is fun to drive! If you bought the tune pack you may need to contact OVTune help desk with your order number and the ECU ID you need the tunes for and let them know your issue.
