I need to learn how to do this. Your excel file made my life easy. And would make sharing a tune easy.

You can either highlight and right click or use the CTRL + A, C, or V short cuts.

I'd love to understand this stuff, but man it would be nice to have an executive summary that says "start here."

I haven't been able to paste into axis. Not sure if that's an issue for anyone else.
But adjusting axis values or calculating to adjust for the different values in different ecus takes the longest.

    So you

Right. But I mean copy the values into seller are boxes in excel. Like you did for the lambda values.

In general do you have to take into account the ECU when porting tunes from one ECU to another? Like does the engine/transmission in a 2016 differ from a 2017/2018/2019/2020/2021 in an appreciable way?

To my knowledge, there are no mechanical differences in the engine or transmission of a 2016 vs a 2021 or anything in between. What I DO know is that some of the more recent tacos are getting a Fuel Pump recall, and some users have reported better experiences with the new (replacement) fuel pump.

From looking at the stock tune files of a 2017 vs a 2021, I can also say that Toyota has definitely tweaked the hell out of the stock torque converter behavior as well. From porting a 2017 custom tune to a 2021, most things were a direct clone, but much of the TC stuff I left alone since it seems to behave fine thus far without custom input from a scrub like me.

    Yeah. I hear ya.

I want to copy the map boxes from VF and paste them into a excel spreadsheet. Just like you did for the lambda values on the MT thread

Ah! It is the same. In vF, CTRL + A or clicking and dragging will select the entire map. From there, either right click and Copy or hit CTRL + C. In Excel, hit Paste or CTRL + V.

Also in Excel, if you want to make a chart, just select all the data, go to Insert, and click on Recommended Charts. Then, pick all Charts, then Surface, and OK.

Which tune are you going to create a "how to" for?

No need to apologize, I'm just not familiar with the OV tune, honestly I don't know what that is...it's a transmission reprogram?

There really isn't a cost involved for the "D.I.Y." instructions. Just time and effort of putting something together that everyone can easily understand.

The cost came in at the pump. And weeks of trial and error.
