    Download the new version of vF and you don’t need a system ID

    edit: oh you didn’t upgrade to vF. The links for that were removed but if you message zendesk, you can still do the upgrade. It’s just not posted publicly anymore cuz people can’t read and follow directions.

    Yuuuup. I almost pulled the trigger on the $80 deal last year but held off because I didn’t feel like doing anything other than flashing so my flash manager setup was A-OK. Then I got a new Mac not thinking about the fact it would change my ID. So now I’m either waiting for a new System ID so I can flash, or a new replacement tool. OR just going with VF, which I’m happy to do if I can get that squared away. I did sign up on that VF forum, just hadn’t frequented it much lately. I may give that a shot if I still don’t hear back. I know it’s been tough historically.

    People that don’t read just have to ruin it for the rest of us eh? Haha. :)

    Yep. There was too many people trying to buy the upgrade, who didn’t already own the kit.. you can’t upgrade something you don’t have!

    there’s also supposed to be a new flash manager coming for people that don’t care about editing in vF.

    Mat recommended NOT to reset AT/LV unless you are having issues with the tune. Like said above your truck will run and shift like crap for a while.

    I just liked using bluetooth, like everyone has said it uses less power both ways, also it supports more PIDs I believe

    Thanks. Well, I ordered the cheap wifi iOS one for $17. Hopefully it'll just be a toy to see numbers flash around on the screen anyway....I trust Papa and Moose not to blowed-up my truck :)

    Uh oh, the scale has tipped toward AJ. A few hundred miles ago I loaded the MD17.Ultimate_Daily tune. Although, I am now on 5.29's and tire size is 31.6", this is running great! (Plan to go to 33's)Tip in is smooth, but it wants to go. Easy driving and the shifting goes through the gears pretty quick, probably the 5.29's. A bit more aggressive throttle and shifting is right about where you expect it to be. Going up small hills, a little bit of throttle and it accelerates nicely without dropping down a gear. Larger hills and it is a controllable downshift. With ECT and D it will hold the gear a little longer and doesn't go into 6th with ect, but that was expected. Gas mileage has dropped a couple mpg, but it dropped with the 5.29's. So far the best tune for me. Can't wait to see what PapaRee and his guys are developing. He's been kind of quite lately.

    How do you like the tune and re gear combo so far? I’m sure mpgs will go down but thats expected. Been on the fence going 4.88/5.29 for awhile. But plan on going 4.88 later this year and already tuned.

    I'm also leaning hard towards 4.88. Don't want to be overgeared. Plan to stay 33s and I don't rock crawl.

    you will like 4.88’s with the tune. 5.29’s would be too high RPMs for trips where freeway driving over 65mph occurs IMO. Load range E tires may be a different story tho, so I cannot speak to that

    @uploadadventure ran 5.29/33s for quite a while until he just recently went 35s

    @uploadadventure
    4.88 or 5.29
    I'm on 33s and plan to stay. No rock crawling anywhere near me. My truck is 5200# with me in it. It'll almost certainly always be less than 5600# as daily driven. I'm more of a high speed gravel roads / logging roads in the mud: as far as "off road" goes.

    What we're doing with tunes is almost perfect, but I still feel gears would be the end all solution.

    That's the biggest reason I went with 4.88's was because I travel across country couple times year to visit family. With 4.88's and stock tune I got as high as 23 MPG in the flatter part of the country where the speed limit was 65-70 MPH. Just got very frustrated with the constant up/down shift on strong head winds, hills and mountain areas so I tuned. Been very happy since, If I did more off road I would have went with 5.29's. Hell my 4.88's get me over the mall speed bumps just fine.:rofl::rofl:

    I've been monitoring with the app and I'm getting same load % at those speeds
