RPM adjustments don't get you any more power. All raising a drive idle does is create the same effect as holding the brake and revving up before a launch.

Like said above, butt dyno feels good

speaking of butt dyno... i'm working on a project dubbed POWERTHIRST that's currently in testing... planning on dropping it here for wider testing in the next few days!!! so far it's f'in FAST. good ol' @Mooseditty17 is helping me with some smoother shifting, but so far there's a big shit-eating grin on my face.

I drive 154mi round trip to and from work 4 days a week, doing majority highway. testing these tunes is fun.

These are the ones I have flashed for myself so far... Just flashed MooseDitty's so I'm going to see how that runs...

    04B81_Reg_Stock_Thx.vft flashed 11/17/2021
    04B81_PapaRee_Reg-Kruiser-4.0.vft flashed 2/12/2021

My latest log pooped on me as soon as it finished. 100% interstate run where I was able to hold at 70 through Cleveland. 20 miles total distance, total fuel economy 23.89mpg.

That’s a big oof for sure.

    Tip in... added for science

There’s a ton of great information in this thread... I just can’t make practical sense of it. Can’t hold my breath for Mats tutorial any longer. Wondering if a few of us could get together to share what we know and even what we think we know to help the guys like me that didn’t jump in expecting a little more guidance. Zoom, phone conference, in person... just thinking out loud.

@PapaRee should just video the tutorial on KDMax.... lol

It would be pretty good for some folks to understand what maps perform what function.

The biggest hurdle is getting the power out of the truck, minor here and there things like shift points are easy enough

I think we are in a good place here with all the tunes that have come out this past week.

@PapaRee just upped KDMax to v5.0 for shifting changes, from the sounds of it the tune is fantastic. He's got power and smoothness.

@Mooseditty17 with UD has a crap ton of power and, having used them in the past, his towing tunes are tops.

I've put out a middle of the road tune focused on fuel economy and low end feel. Mostly trying to make the little truck feel like a big one.

With all the options, you can't go wrong. There is something for everyone. Hell a few people have all 3 plus the original OV tune. Its not a bad idea I suppose if you flash a new one to the truck based on what you need at the time.

I'm not gonna edit it haha. My luck it'll be 7.0 after I do. That man works hard for his tunes
