    Ok, I gotta admit that adds nothing to the thread but I did laugh, on the inside.

    It's pretty crazy how little hp is used / needed to cruise

    Lake Erie provided an opportunity for a 4Hi 60mph test without anyone getting in the way. Pretty good considering the truck has to turn all 4.

    So if anyone else noticed Mat @OVTune updated VF to 1.2.9.9.4 and added an ECU recovery feature to it. I took out the spare ECU and tested as many times as I wanted. By far the best update to VF to date

    ECU recovery is an incredible addition to the already stellar VF software. Just keeps getting better and better.

    I tested it on the bench with one ECU and with my truck on the other. The bench I cut power and unhooked the tactrix while flashing a tune in order to brick the ECU, both times it was recovered. The truck I only unhooked the OBD, again it was recovered.

    Lifesaver for some people especially if you’re tuning someone’s truck and it doesn’t go as planned

    Definitely a huge safety measure. I've had my truck not start after a failed flash and having the truck just crank and crank but not start is definitely concerning. Eventually I was able to flash and all was well, but knowing that there is a safety built into recover an ecu is huge.

    I'm curious if this would work on a failed update during a cuw flash upload / update to an ecu as well. Seems that has always been the most risky part of the entire flashing process

    So my spare ECU came from a junkyard 2017. I wish I had tested this theory before performing the CUW to bring it to 04B04 (didn’t want to pay credits to unlock 04B02 lol).

    If you wanna drop $100 on a junkyard ECU, techstream change the vin to yours and make it fail a CUW, go for it! :thumbsup: Not to mention it’s nice having a backup for when you flash tune edits multiple times a day

    Alright. So its been a long couple weeks but thought I would update here. I drove @PapaRee's and @TermLimits tune for a bit.

    Like everyone else, I really don't have anything bad to say about @PapaRee tune. Because of the 5.29 I still think the light tip in can be adjusted down a bit more (I didn't talk to Kreg about the tip in, but I'm 10000% sure he would adjust it) The shifting is good and as soon as you hit an incline and get into the throttle it does shift right away, which is good, keeps you in the power. I did notice some some knock values in the -4's which isn't a big deal but I noticed it when logging. All in all I see why so many people are liking the tune and running it!

    I also ran @TermLimits tune. This tune is really solid. He's done some good work here. Knock values are really good, and if they pop into the -4's its either because its about to shift or just cause the truck does that. This tune does a good job of staying in the gears and shifts really well. The throttle on this tune is pretty spot on and not as jumpy. I noticed really good MPG numbers which is what he was trying to do in the first place. @TermLimits did a great job and I think if you are driving more you should try his tune out for sure.

    Both tunes are great, each has their strong suites. I recommend both. I'd definitely reach out and or check out each one of their threads
    @PapaRee - here
    @TermLimits - here

    Time to get back to working on tunes for 5.29 / 35's with @Chadr7858
