    Glad you posted your paypal @Mooseditty17 , I was going to request it anyways, since I've learned a ton just comparing your tunes to Mat's, yours to Stock, Mat's to stock, etc... But I've already given Mat a TON of money so far (very well deserved money), so I like to give credit where credit's due. I'm actually kicking off an LLC for this, partially for liability protection, and partially so I can write off future upgrades (after all, how can I properly learn to tweak a tune for 5.29 gears if I don't have some on my truck, Mr. Taxman? :p )

    To answer someone else's question above, I flashed a buddy's taco with one from Mat's 2.0 tune pack, then once I got him updated to 04B04 a week or two later, I flashed Mild+Wild 3.0 on it, and he honestly prefers Mats 2.0.... I vastly prefer Mild+Wild, and will be changing some things with it to suit my preferences even more. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, they say.

    Coming from the BMW Twin-turbo world, where the tuning I did with Cobb's Accessport were basically all Cobb's off-the-shelf tunes, just tweaked for various bolt-on combinations (intakes, downpipes, etc...). The fact that we can make our own is insane. I'm having a blast learning.

    On a side note, I've been lurking on the VFTuner thread on Tundras.com, and so far all those guys are 100% just relying on custom tunes from Mat. They seemed surprised when I told them I'd paid to unlock a Tundra ECU so that I could start messing around, since apparently I'm the first on there to actually unlock one! And I don't even own a Tundra. I feel like we're still barely figuring this out, but we're MILES ahead of the Tundra guys. Thankfully I have a few Tundra buddies who are willing to act as guinea pigs for my tuning adventures.

    This open-source mentality is fantastic. We'll all have a ton to learn from each other.

    Even if you aren't comfortable making all these changes you're reading about, you can still flash tunes from OV, or other users. That alone is worth it in my opinion.

    Yeah I agree, I love my truck but wish the motor just had more pep for what it is. I can guarantee that these tunes would make my truck drive the way it was meant to be. And it seems alot of you guys have really put alot of info out for people to use.

    These trucks have a lot of potential.
    It's sad how bad Toyota neutered them.
    Nobody buys a Tacoma because they want an overpriced Prius with a bed. They want a capable, reliable, Legendary truck that follows Toyota's off road lineage. Everything we've done so far, all while maintaining and sometimes gaining MPGs is proof it was possible all along.

    I've been messing around with the TC lock and unlock maps for a 04A61 tune. Does anyone see an issue with raising the TC lock values up by 10 to get the gap between lock and unlock so it uses the throttle a little more instead of unlocking right away. Or would lowering the unlock be better? I currently have the lock raised by 10 and it eliminated the quick unlock when trying to maintain speed. The trans temps are staying normal. Trying to get a grasp on this. Thx
