    Thanks -

The 4th is somewhat bothersome, so do keep us posted if you get that changed.

For me, the truck goes to immediate slip lock upon shift to third under light acceleration, then unlocks until shift to 4th... I understand that's a first world problem, but from a driving experience thing, its a waste.. Its never even slip locked for 2 seconds and immediately unlocks to help accelerate to the next shift. Its in and then immediately out... but you get that dip in response that drives my OCD up a wall.

I have a ticket in to OVT, but I don't expect anything as its such a small issue. Hopefully the community can figure this out... I just think we are missing a table in VFT, or the ecu will never allow this to be taken out.

I've even tried maxing out the accelerator angle values with no effect.

    Keep us posted,

    J

Quick question for the vFTuner pro's... Are the base 2.0 tunes shareable in .vft format?

I recently upgraded to vFTuner from the old software and want to flash the new 2.0 O4B04 Premium 33" - 5.29 files. I've requested the 2.0 tune packs from Matt a couple of times with no luck. We all know how busy he is... so I'm hoping I may be able to get it from someone else. TIA

I noticed changes to the Injection split, intake vvt and Atkinson cycle. I know that intake VVT helps with some bogging issues. But I’m not sure what injection split and atkinson cycle adjustments help with. Any insight?

I think we deserve an overview of the product we bought. It is all fun to tinker with until you realize the limits.
Are the speeds in kph or mph, is that accelerator angle or the throttle plate angle, which tables for D, S or CC, why my truck won't upshif after reaching shift points just a few examples of questions I have.

Just noticed while copying some files that the torque 10 table/map is much higher in the Stock 04c00 tune than in the 04b04 tune.
I remember Ovtune telling us to increase this (and we did) but obviously not enough. So my suggestion is to use these torque 10 settings (like in 04c00).
    I certainly am.

I have OVTune and at this point am just using the out of the box tune packs. I run 31.5 inch tires instead of stock 30.5 inch tires. Is there anywhere in the tables that I can change to reflect the tire change and have that affect all other settings settings? I ask because the 2.0 premium tune for stock tires is a big upgrade over the Toyota tune for my ECU version, but when I changed my tires, I did notice the shift points not being as good as they were after the tune, but before the tire change.

Maybe you should have gone with 29.5ers :boink:

You can adjust the tire radius - i can go look for the table

edit: I would keep it inline with your actual size but it's DriveTrain Control - Tire Size

Just knowing that its there, I'll play around and see what I can find.

Yeah, I know that only going up an inch is pretty lame, but I didn't want to have to deal with rubbing, etc... When these wear, out (which at the current rate will be many years) I'll go to some 32 inch (275/70-70).

Hey I am right there with you I kept the 245/65r16s on my first set (bought the truck used at 30k to at 50k it was time). I would like to go to 265/65s next time but nothing more if at all. Enjoy the tweaking!!

Another question, what's the behavioral change between the enhanced throttle (thx) version of the tunes and the normal version? I haven't seen a good description of what's "enhanced"...

My butt dyno says it's just more responsive all around from the pedal.

it is the tire size table under the front and rear differential tables which is under the alternator settings tables (when scrolling down).

You will want to enter the radius of the tire, so 15.75 for the value

I found it and changed it. The tires are actually 31.6 so I put in 15.8 and saved the file. I did the same for the enhanced throttle version. I closed out VFTuner and then opened it again and checked each file... the app changed the value to something like 15.8147. It did it consistently between both files, so there must be some internal validation taking place of values that have been inputted.

I am now trying to decide which file to try in the truck. I an running the Premium stock tune now, so if I go with the THX version, I'll be changing both the tire size and throttle at the same time. I'll probably give it a shot. If the throttle feels too sensitive, I can always go back to the normal (non THX) tune with the slightly larger tire size.
