    Alrighty,
So I just got back from driving around in circles for 2 hours, testing in various conditions. I would run the same route twice and then swap tune to non edited vvt, atkinson, and split tables that you guys have came up with. I tested with 85 octane (I live at 5300 feet) and tested on premium 91 octane.

So what I have found is that with 85 octane KCLV will go below 20 and hover around 19 down to 18 when driving at 45mph and a high load (60%+) with low rpm <1600. At higher rpm like highway driving where my truck runs about 2200rpm KCLV would climb to around 25.

Now without those tables changed on 85 I noticed that KCLV would stay above 20-23 (around 20.5 as the low) at the same conditions where the changed table tune would be below 20. However KCLV would not get to 25 on the highway. It would settle around 23.5.

With premium fuel both tunes would maintain a KLCV of 23.5 in the same conditions where we were seeing 19 and 20.5. On the highway it would climb to around 27 with changed tables occasionally as to where the non changed tune would stay around 25.

So FWIW premium is the way to go IMO if you want to run the changed tables. I don't notice a huge change in power or ability to hold gears between the two it maybe a little better with the tables changed but it could also be in my head, however I do notice a decent bump in mpg with the tables modified. When chugging along under high load the instant mpg would not go as low as it would without the tables modified.

Moving forward I think I may change that vvt table to not be at 75 at such a low rpm so I can run 85 without seeing lower KLCV values at the high load low rpm situation, and pull as much power and MPG out of it.

Thank You, baby steps but I have definitely learned a few useful things on this forum. Tire size, differential ratio, alternator setup, two codes for cat CEL, now upshifts. Basically things most needed to make use of the files posted on here. Now if someone made an mpg tune in normal mode and wild in ECT mode that would be awesome!

    You are being sarcastic right?
All the Mild and Wild tunes are mild in drive, and wild in ECT. We have had many updates since then, but they all are basically milder in drive and get pretty good mpg.

I think the idea was more dedicated ECO *or* performance switching as opposed to the currently well-done balance single options. At least that's what I am awaiting...

No, I am saying that my speedo shows I am doing 80mph when I know damn well I am not going that fast, based on granny goose driving next to me in her prius on the freeway. I know shes not going faster than 65 or 70 and my speedo is just below 80... I can gauge speed pretty well... I guess I should try using GPS of some sort to see... Also, we have these speed limit signs that flash your speed at you to scare you into thinking you are going to get a ticket or whatever... They always show me going about 8 or 9 MPH slower than my speedo shows..... For example, it shows me going 42mph and the speedo is just above 50.....

I got an opportunity to drive 2 versions of @PapaRee latest tunes. Overall both are very good tunes, drives very well on the freeway. There are minor changes were applied to the throttle and I also shortened down the 4th upshift( to long for me) and with that I had to bumped up the tc locking speed by 2-3 point for 5th. So this small changes took care a driving on windy slow roads.

As far as freeway driving and driving above 70 mph while climbing.
Downshift 6 to 5 is in the right spot, about 32* of accelerator.
On the moderate and long inclines the things are a bit better compare to my versions, but not quite what I want.
Both versions are allow you to push the accelerator to 60 % (airload control tables vs 2.0 original) and I get about 100 rpms more. As usual, you start loosing the momentum before the top of the climb. TC stays fully locked.
More accelerator does not a thing, no increase in rpms and the truck downshifts to 4th once you reach 95%(3rd image capture right at the downshift).
After that you will get the same issue - wont upshift until you get to the flatter part or select S and it will upshift. 4 to 5th upshift works at speed at or below 65.

CC worked fine on. I think i got a downshift at 77 mph on the same spot. Wont upshift unless lower the speed by CC control.

I drove 1st version (2nd image) with empty tank and felt good. 2nd version(1st image) was with a full tank and felt a bit sluggish to me.

The main issue is non working downshift to 4th at speed above 70. I tried different # in every direction and it would not work in D. I guess I can drive in S or w/CC on.

So the tune is solid, but you may need to adjust to you preferences. 1st version has a touchy throttle and a long 3rd and 4th. Both are easy to correct and no big deal.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad I could help.
Maybe when we get Mat's update with new maps, we can dial it in better.
    Hopefully Soon!

I have shared this tune version with a few people to test.
If anyone wants to try this tune, PM me.

    Great feedback and team work.

I decided to put my tuning work on the back burner and I just flashed and asked to use @Chadr7858 5.29/35 tune. Didn’t drive it far but so far it’s a really solid tune.

I have a feeling that 99% of Tacoma drivers dont care for an ECO mode so Im fine with being shamed for asking. :)

to continue beating a dead horse..
So what needs to be done to get the shifting to and from 4th working?

here is 5-4 downshift values below. Base on my early screen shots, I should be entering a value for my speed *1.6 The speed was 75 at 54*. Converted speed =120 and, to follow the logic, I should have something >120 in 50*?

    Correct?

There is no way you have to go from 66 up to 120 at 50*. That's just too much difference. I would just increase it 5 and test it again.

When you guys tune these shift points are you also doing the transmission TORQUE maps? (3D)

you need to focus on the torque maps where / when it doesn't shift how you want
