Just an FYI, there is a TSB out now to update your ECU to 04B33. Something to think about. No tune files available yet but Mat is working on them. I flashed to 04B33 and it drives an awful lot like 2.0 did. Happily waiting for vf files to be released. They have not decided exactly how to handle customers upgrading their ECU calibrations.

Yeah, I'm probs going to wait until they have the "remedy" for the recall for my 2019 04b31, I imagine they would hit me with the TSB accordingly.

Shit! I didn't think about when I finally get my recall, I will already be on 04B33! Oh well, screw 'em. Still waiting to even be notified. Production date is 03/19.

Is there a listing of what ECUs are supported in the Tacoma tune pack? I have a 2020 on 04B80 but I'm unsure if I should pre-maturely flash to 04B81 before I register my VF Tuner. I'm currently waiting for my Windows Laptop to arrive so I can finish the registration process.

I’m weary of doing the update. Already running 2.0 thx for my ecu. Also not sure too what @OVTune will do because of ecu change if I do the update. I already unlocked 04B31 and don’t really want to buy more credits. Hopefully don’t have to.

I’m waiting to do the TSB until the Mat can check out the file. I think he has copies of it. Hell I have the file so if he can get the map done I’ll just do the tsb myself

Yeah, that makes sense. I didn’t think it all the way through. I know Mat likes us to be on the newest calibrations if possible because Toyota changes things that he cannot access. But I was willing to wait for Mat to get 04B33 done. It shouldn’t be long and it drives damn near identical to 2.0.

Low power ,frequent shifting , and delay/hesitation. Read about it on the first page of the TSB thread. There is the cuw file and a pdf which explains everything.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

    the pdf is 0092-20
    The cuw is 0022-20

Hey does anyone have anything for 04B81 yet? I thought my buddy's daughter's taco was an 04C20, which is what I just finished working on, but turns out the truck is a 2020 not a 2021!!! I checked the 1st post, but I didn't see anything.

Dumb noob question but I just bought the vF Tuning software and cable. Do I need to buy the tune pack as well? I don't think so but I cannot tell. Also is there a thread with a tutorial to help get started? I have a 2018 A/T 3.5L

    Thanks,

    Erik
