I did change a few, but stopped. #1, and #10.
There are 17 of them and adjusting each one and testing would be very time consuming. Mat said he is consolidating them into a single torque map in the future.

Changes to table 10 were to address 4-5 upshift hang?

It seems so. And I haven't had that problem on my tune since then.

I was just making sure I understood. That is certainly a big hit to lifespan we need to track. Thanks! :hattip:

Not really. I had all 15 tables updated and nothing.
Works if you are below 65.
Above 65 - works in S, in D - you need to be in a jet aircraft rotating speed range

That PID is torque converter temp not fluid temp. Torque converter heats up when unlocked because science. If your pan temp is going much over 200... :anonymous:

I'm using ovtunes tables he put into that example file awhile ago. It doesn't rev hang or lunge into gears near as bad with them.

Who here is smart enough with MS Excel to copy all those tables values and average them into one? That's the gist of what Mat suggested, right? Easy enough solution if I knew how to do it

Issue is TC temps. Pan is fine. TC temp is building up when fully unlocked (slu =0, status =0). I went past 220 a few times testing tc unlocking in 5th on the climb. The pan remained at the thermostat range.
Again, once SLU is on , the TC temp will drop really fast

You're worried about roasting your torque converter at 220?

I hate to be the turd in the prom dance punch bowl, but so far I have mixed feelings about Kruizer 4.0

I still have the 4-5 upshift hang every now and again after about 150 miles of running K4.0. Additionally, as a tuner (Subarus) I am super sensitive to certain things that catch my attention in a tune, particularly with DBW (drive by wire) cars where your foot position does NOT directly relate to throttle (butterfly) opening.

Here is what I am feeling with my truck:

At certain times, when pressing the accelerator pedal, I can tell by the way the rushing air into the intake sounds that the butterfly is opening much farther than my foot is telling it to. The ECU appears to quickly catch this and modulate it closed, but that initial big gulp of air the ECU is requesting (by opening the butterfly) seems way off to me.

Keep in mind that I have not started logging any of these tunes, and am just going based off of my nearly 13 years of tuning forced induction engines, and my nearly 40 years of building and tuning cars of all flavors as my barometer. Something needs to be smoothed out in the table(s) to eliminate this anomaly, but I couldn't begin to tell you what it is, as I have yet to dive super deep into the tables in vF to be certain. All I know is that there is an issue with what I presume are the requested torque table(s) vs throttle position table(s) that needs some attention. If I were in icy conditions or slippery mud, this would cause me to flash back to stock in a heartbeat.

The 4-5 upshift thing is also annoying when it happens, but it does not happen all the time and it is rather hard to replicate, however, when it does happen, it requires me to lift throttle by at least 30% to get it to upshift so something is a bit off there.

Beyond those two things, K4.0 is a decent adjustment. That being said, I actually preferred the tune I posted earlier in this thread which I will post again here for anyone to look at and see if they can spot what may have changed. In a nut shell, this is a @dave82at variant that I adjusted the T10 table per the conversation that was taking place a few weeks ago. THIS tune netted me 18+ MPG average, fantastic shifting and none of the aforementioned weirdness with regards to throttle position I am noticing on K4.0

@PapaRee I think you are danger close to a great tune here, but from my perspective, it is still a little off for my tastes. In the spirit of progress I felt it was important to share my experiences... Keep up the good work brother!

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it!
That is the good thing about VFtuner, if you find something that you do not like, you can change it on your tune for your truck.

So LRA (importers of larger 32 Gal fuel tanks) confirmed gas level is ECU programmable. Any chance of a map for this in the future? Or anyone have some insight if I should try and find a tech stream solution instead? No luck researching it yet.

Would you please try to put in S6 to verify if 4-5 upshift is working on your truck? This issue is beyond the table tuning.

Not sure what you mean Vlady, is "S6" a revision of someone's tune? Or are you suggesting I manually shift from 4-5 in "S" mode?

I found that 4-5 upshift is working if you select S mode ( switch to S and select 6th gear) and when you manually shift up when getting that 4-5 hang (switch to S and push up). In my case, I have consistent upshifht in S which follows the values in the table(speed, accelerator). It seems there are some safety factors that prevent to upshift in D after certain speed, cause it obviously works at lower speeds/loads.

I've been chasing this bug since 2.0 and was not able resolve it by moving shift points, editing torque request tables, etc.

I'm pretty good with Excel. I can give it a go. What tables are you referring to? The myriad of torque tables?

Are there any tunes available for the 2.7L?
I have a couple of people in my area with the 2.7L that are inquiring if their engine is tunable.

    Thanks
