    7000 rpm won't hurt the engine.
    This same engine revs to 6900 stock in the Camry.

    I've revved to 7500 in our R/D truck no problem.

    (Assuming all your fluids are at adequate levels..aka oil)

    Boom. Thanks for the confirmation. That makes me feel significantly better. I didn’t realize the V6 Camry revved that high stock. That’s pretty sweet... it’s sweeter in a Tacoma.

    So to remove liability from that statement..

    That's assuming your fluids/engine/drivetrain is in good shape / engine isn't being revved out cold / etc.

    Lol just saying. We had a tune with a 7000+ rev limit, nobody's engine blew up but many complained they were afraid of that limit so we got rid of it.

    Lol I follow you man. No liability worries. I take very good care of my truck. Fluids are always kept in tip top order. What I meant was if the Camry can do it with the same engine then there’s no good reason the Tacoma can’t aside from weighing a few hundred more pounds.

    I have my rev limiter set at 7400. I hardly ever actually get near that though.

    I used to wind out my old Honda B series to 9500 on stock valvetrain and never floated a valve or spun a bearing...it'll be fine*



    *if you blow up your engine, it is totally not my fault.

    I have all the same torque maps. I took the highs out of all the maps and blended into one. And it drives different that’s for sure. More consistent in different scenarios. I have about 300 miles so far

    Here is my attempt to describe how we do it.
    S mode alone stops upshift. You put it in 4 and it doesn't go up to 5 or 6. Put it in 5, and it doesn't go up to 6.
    So to get gearlock, you need to stop downshift.
    We change ECT downshifting to the lowest values so that it will not downshift (except at extremely low speeds)
    So with this done, gearlock is when you have ECT + S mode. You control the upshifting and the downshifting with the shift knob.

    It was just put in “custom” for my Dynometer testing I have scheduled next week. My goal is to show what kind of power gains TKO (Kruiser 4.0) offers versus stock.
