I am looking at the Viar 85p compressor and it says max 15 amp. The Tacoma has a 15 amp fuse in the cig lighter. But I read a post somewhere that claimed it would keep blowing 15 amp fuses constantly. Anybody have problems running this compressor on 15 amp circuit?

Try it and find out, only thing I can say is when you first turn the compressor on you have 'inrush' where the amperage spikes but comes down but most fuses have an inrush rating as well.

You probably won't be happy with any compressor that plugs into your cigarette lighter as they will all be limited by that circuit.

Skip anything with a lighter plug and get one that has battery clamps.

I have the Viar 88P and it does OK filling my 35x12.50x15 tires on my Bronco, though I do wish it was a bit faster.

But for the $$$, it's great.

    What he said ^

if it doesn't work out, setup your own dedicated circuit for the compressor

I haven't bought it yet I would buy the battery clip model if the 85p won't run on 15 amps

This isn't a spinoff, it's a specific question about a specific truck and compressor. I have a 17 and the 85P. Works great from the cigarette outlet.
