    My drivers side windshield wiper is shuttering vibrating towards the end of its path. I have the original arms and wiper blades, and have only been buying the rubber inserts for the blades.

    Over the years of using the wipers as a snow removal tool this was bound to happen...

    My question is, is the arm bent $50 (part #1) or just the wiper blade $20 (part #4) I’m thinking it’s just the wiper blade but what do you think?

    The entire time I've owned my truck the only way to get rid of that vibration is to buy the frame-less wiper blades. The Rain-X brand seems to work the best.

    I suppose there may be something bent, but I sure can't see it, and both sides act the same.

    The wiper refill needs to flop for each direction.

    ------> /
    \<-------

    Turn the key off when blade is mid stroke and see which way the rubber is flopped. Then take a Crescent wrench and twist the tip of the flat part of the arm (near the blade) so the rubber flops correctly.

    Also, when the rubber gets old, the rubber gets permanently bent so that the rubber scrapes on the down stroke and chatters on the up stroke.

    Cheap blades do this. The ones I steal from work are garbage. I miss stealing the Bosch blades from firestone. Way better compared to the valvoline blades I steal now.

    My 2010 diver side also does this towards the outer edge of the window it almost clicks when it reaches it full wipe . I tightened the 14mm nut on the arm but after reading this maybe its the blades. Ive been running the michellin blades. But I might have to try oem

    Over the years I've tried inserts, Goodyear, Rain x, and Bosch Icons. Now I stick with the Bosch Icons.

    Yup cheap blades will do this as they get old. Sometimes wiping down the blades with sicone oil helps. Like those rejuvinating wiper pads they sell. They're basically a rubber conditioner. So.e people soak or wipe down with Armor All or similar. Silicone oil works for me and I always have it in the garage anyway.

    Had same problem with cheaper blades - only thing that solved it was the expensive Bosh icon - no more chatter. The problem was on the left - drivers side only - never had a problem on right - passenger side.
