How's it going, new to the forum world. So I have the 05 taco 4.0 6 speed. I had a 2" leveling kit with new struts put in so I could fit a set of 255/85/16's on her. I noticed the vibration and noise when I got it back from the shop. Figured it was due to an alignment need. Well its still there. I'm thinking it's either the bearings or the CV shaft. I just don't know enough to know for sure. Cv's have a little play in them but not a whole lot. No play that I can find in the bearings either. I asked the guy who installed the leveling kit and he said I didn't need to throw in a diff drop. Was he wrong and could that be reason why I'm having noise? There's a "yota only" shop in town here but their labor rates are friggin ridiculous. Help a brother out please.

Does it go away when you shift to 4Hi?

Mine's been like that for almost a year but it rarely acts up, and when it does when I go to 4 Hi then back to 2 Hi it usually stays gone.

I don't think it's a big deal to let it go for a while and I don't think doing so can cause long term harm. Mine has never gotten worse.

I had the same issue with a 2.5 inch front lift and I just replaced my needle bearing with the ECGS bushing and all the vibrations are gone. The only issue that I have heard of if you leave it for an extended period of time is that it can score the CV thus requiring you to replace it at the same time as the bushing. Have not heard of any catastrophic failures due to the vibration.

Hey could this issue also cause the clunking I sometimes get at full steering lock after sitting for a bit? I was thinking tie rod but its brand new. Then I remembered that CV shaft has play cause of that diff bearing
