Vibration at 30 MPH

It is before 30 MPH. I would say between 0-15 maybe.

 

Do you feel it above 30?... I know that if I have on C-Rated tires that there is no vibration. There is a slight vibration at all speeds with the e tires.

No. I just feel it and hear the little noises when I take off from a dead stop.

 

I've checked the drive lines on the front wheels. They are tight, no slop. Wheel bearings seem tight also,(jacked up the front and checked for wobble, none on either side).

 

Do you have any movement on the driveshaft going through the carrier bearing either up/ down or left and right? My U-joints don't show any signs of being worn out. No grease slung out or broken bearing cups. No movement there either. Just wondering if your driveshaft moves a lot in the carrier bearing.

 

this thread just seemed to die... wonder what the final verdict was, have 2009 DCSB , I've got this shudder too, under light throttle from start, 4H or 2H hits just about at 30MPH and stops around 34MPH, if I keep throttle feathered so stay at 30-33 MPH it gets down right violent, let off the gas or increase it and it goes away, all rear U-joints and carrier bearing changed last summer , checked front shaft U-joints and from what I can see they are good, just changed needle bearing to ECGS bushing 2 days ago, shudder still there. It doesn't do it under heavy throttle or above 32MPH.

 

Have you done wheel bearings?

short answer - used non-approved Transmission fluid when I changed fluid a month or so before it started, so after discovering this I did complete flush using Toyota fluid and it fixed it after a week of driving, its been fine ever since....and I did EVERYTHING , even AAMCO and Toyota checked out everything and they couldn't find anything wrong. I think I found the post warning about using non-approved fluid on here (eventually).

 

Wow . Interested to know what kind of fluid you used the first time ? Did you just replace the fluid in the transmission pan or did you replace all the fluid the first time ? What was your mileage on your 2009 at the time ?
There are soooo many fluids that are WS compatible now is the reason I am asking .

 

I used royal purple, only changed pan fluid vs full flush, just guessing now but I could go out to toyota owners as I post all my maintenance on my owners page but I think it was around 190K miles, currently at 207K.. I was afraid my gears looked like yours which is why I took it to AAMCO, then Toyota for a drive shaft recall, both places turned up clean with nothing but head scratching. Like everything else, if I want it done right I've gotta do it myself.. even if it was my cluster F to begin with.

My 07 Tacoma V6 has a subtle but long-lasting vibration at the beginning of fourth gear at around 30 mph about the time that that started had a new catalytic converter put in but in the meantime have changed the u-joints the carrier bearing which I did today and a new tranny mount I just test drove it and the problem still persists I checked the drive shaft it's straight. So I'm going back to point a I'm going to try to be more meticulous in checking the drive shaft and try to figure it out
