Jesus. I’m not getting any warm fuzzies after reading this. I have a 2023 SR5 V6 4x4 double cab short bed on order. My current 2006 has none of these issues. Now I’m second guessing my choice.

I checked all the wheel lugs torque at 70. Just one rear lug driver side went a quarter turn to 70, so very loose.
Went around again at 84 and the two front wheels didn’t budge. Rear wheel driver side tightened that one lug up to 84, and all the rest of the rear lugs went 1/8 to 1/16 turn to hit 84.
Jacked the front, loosened all lugs, retorqued to 70, then 84.
After that I adjusted the tire pressure to 32 all around and then we drove on the highway.
    Everything seems fine now.

Great idea doing the step-torque method. Forgot to suggest that.

Yeah and i guess the dealer having the truck three times and the tire shop once the bad tires and maybe the bad torque’s kept getting moved to different wheels so it was frustrating situation.
Anyway with all new tires and correct spec pressures and torque’s it seems to have fixed the vibration.
At least this is a lesson because in my previous 36 vehicles i’ve never gotten a bad set of tires or wheels that are so sensitive.

I’ve seen this with two F250s, a mustang GT, an 02 Tacoma Prerunner, a Civic and our 08 FJ

All alloy wheels. Installing lugs with impacts always caused the issue. I watched a Ford tech install after rotation. He hand started lugs and tightened from there, with an impact.
