installed 5100’s on front. 4th notch. Experiencing slight vibration from front end that is intermittent. At 30-50 mph can feel a slight vibration every 1.5 seconds. Any experience with this? Hoping it’s a simple alignment tweek. Otherwise there is not pull to either side. Fairly simple install, can’t see what could be different. Thoughts?

Most likely the needle bearing on front drivers side, common issue with both 2nd and 3rd Gens, there’s tons of threads here on it.

Drive it in 4WD, if the vibration goes away it’s most likely the needle bearing. You can replace it with a solid bushing from ECGS, relatively cheap. You’ll need the tool, as well if you’re replacing it yourself.

Did you use the optional install tool or just the removal tool?

I haven't read any threads where a dealership actually fixed the issue. Dealerships have replaced owner's diff and bushings, but it's still the same faulty part. Hopefully they'll allow you to bring in a ECGS bushing and install for you if they're willing to. But I had this same issue. I installed 3rd gen 6112's on the 1inch setting on Saturday, got an alignment, and instantly heard the in-and-out vibration. Ordered the part today and will contemplate on doing it myself or taking it to my mechanic.

Some dealers do, some don’t. They don’t technically have to, since it’s your fault the issue occurred. However, the bearings do cause issues in stock trucks too. I’ve read on here some even install the ECGS bearing as they are well aware of the faulty needle bearings. Just be ready to get rejected and have to do it yourself. Let us know how it goes.

Seems like there's 2-3 people a week that post on TW that they've just lifted their truck and now there's a mysterious vibration coming from the front end. Does anyone read and study the pros and cons of lifting the truck before they do it? There's multiple threads about the issues and fixes, you don't have to look to hard. I guess planning is an old school habit.

In a couple of weeks I'm planning on replacing my stock OR suspension with 6112's w/ king 700 springs and 5160's w/ wheeler 3AAL springs, flip kit and super bump stop on all corners. I'll also be adding an SSO bumper/warn winch and more armor. And of course I'm replacing the problematic DS needle bearing with the ECGS bushing. It's a no brainer to do it all at one time. Not trying to piss off anyone but Just saying. IMHO.
    Have A Blessed Day
