So no definite solution to this problem other than buying a new truck?

My issue turned out to be an out of balance driveshaft. Only a faint hint of vibration at 80 - 84 now, barely noticable at all, and acceptable. Dealer tried wheel balancing 1st and charged me for it, came back and demanded a refund, and further diagnosed review of the issue. I have 40,000 + miles on it now, and it is fine.

Oh, driveshaft was replaced with brand new one, not rebalanced.

I just bougt a 2008 tacoma reg. cab and have already taken it back to toyota because of vibration and low rumbling noise between 55 and 70. It goes away at 70. They replaced the carrier bearing and the vibration was still there. We are in the middle of a snow storm and I put sandbags in the bed, and guess what? The vibration is gone. Any ideas.

I have an 02 Tacoma, just had the carrier bearing replaced, the first time they replaced it they used an after market one, didn't work so they got one from Toyota and it seemed to work. Than i had to replace the rear u-joint, so here's the problem i'm having.

Truck rides fine except when i hit 40 mph on the nose, 40-60 mph i get a strong vibration, even if i take my foot off the gas pedal or throw it in neutral while going down the road, once i get over 60 mph the vibration goes away.

The shop told me to have the trans looked at, but the vibration is there no matter what i do while driving 40-60, i can floor it, OD on/off, throw it in neutral, still there. Any ideas?

Sounds like it changed the angle on your carrier bearings and ujoints when you added weight to the bed.

i had vibration problems at 60 mph also,, I took my wheels to a shop and asked them if they had the hykula adapter, if that's what its called I cant remember, for Toyota rims, they told me yeah they work on high end cars. so any way after 180 bucks the vibes were still there. so I took it to the toyota dealership and rebalanced again. vibes are now gone and truck drives smooth.

mine is in the 55-65 speed. sometimes you can feel it in the seat, floor, slightly in the steering wheel when temperatures are below 50-60 deg F. When it's warmer out, the vib is nearly gone. and also mostly only under load and not while coasting. 2006 Tacoma 4 door short bed 5 speed automatic stock suspension.

Sounds like you threw a tire balance weight.

My truck is exactly the same but you can feel a hopping at 31 mph then it goes away and comes back at 45-60 and at this speeds my steering wheel will shake pretty bad, it seems like lots of people have this vibration problem and some are easy fixes. I hope your luck gets better.

Slight vibe in the seat between 46-52 mph came along after Dakar install . I will give it some time before I shim anything .

So here’s the thing, first off this is my first post, and my first vehicle ever.
Anyways, I get vibrations around 50-55 mph, not all the time, but occasionally, I can feel it in the seat and the steering wheel. The first time I felt it I thought it was wind, but I now know it isn’t...

Like most of you i am experiencing a slight vibration. Mine is almost entirely in the steering wheel though. It is also very specific to 55-60 mph. nothing before or after those speeds. Ideas?

I have a 2013 DCSB 2-wheel drive. I like most, I guess, have the same slight floor board and seat vibration between 50-58 mph. I didn't have it or notice it until I had my tranny serviced at 68,000 miles. I don't know what would have caused it, they said the fluid looked very good and they replaced it with Toyota fluid. Of course I can't easily check the fluid level without a dip stick! I also had the differential fluid changed at the same time, again don't know how this would cause a vibration??
I also have the famed (axle wrap) vibration on hard acceleration between first and second. Been living with that one, just trying to keep my foot out of the gas!

Seems like most have the issue, but it not many answers. I am wondering if it is something with my wheels and tires. Since it is only the steering wheel that vibrates on mine
