Reversing with the e-brake doesn't do anything. The only way the star nut adjusts is pulling on the e-brake. It's a ratcheting system, it will only click over a tooth if it can, otherwise it stays on the current tooth.

I know you said you'd eliminated the wheel bearings, but because you mentioned this happens when you turning, I think you should reconsider them. I had a vibration at high speed (50-60) that only occurred when turning. I couldn't feel any movement in the front bearings no matter what I did. Even took it to a few shops, they all said the bearings were fine. Out of desperation, I changed them. They were the problem. But I couldn't get any movement out of them.

No no the vibration is literally all the time and it get really strong when going 35-45 mph. It’s not when I turn, at most probably nothing happens because I slow down and vibrations go down.

but regarding the drum breaks, should I adjust the pads until they are both slightly rubbing on the drum? Or like very little clearance ?

My mistake, I thought this was the post with a vibration while turning.

How long have you had the vibration? Did you recently do some brake work that resulted in changing the rear brake adjustment (this would either be a rear brake shoe/drum replacement, or something with the bell cranks or e-brake). Depening on how long the vibration has gone on, the drum could be outta round now and need to be replaced.

Nope I’ve haven’t touched the drum breaks in a long long time, and this vibration just started happening less then a week ago without me doing anything to the truck

the only thing I’ve done that might have done something was some doughnuts in the dirt but besides that nothing else lol

Do you use your e-brake on a regular basis?

Using the parking brake is how the rear drums get adjusted. Just thinking that maybe you have a bad bell crank or cranks, and one freed up during your doughnuts spree.

Either way, try adjusting the dragging brake so that it's just not dragging and see if the vibration goes away. Might be time for new shoes and drums anyway if you haven't done them.

I also had bad drums, but I had them turned. I ended up just going for new Napa shoes and drums to try to eliminate them as the source.

How much space does it have to be in between the drum and the shoe or would that even matter ?

Yea that's your problem. I'd take it to a driveshaft shop and get them to check it out. Driveshaft may need balancing, or Ujoints or double cardan joint may be bad.
