Last september I bought a '97 Tacoma off a friend of mine for $4000. I couldnt turn it down, it only had 50,000miles on it, and it was originally given to him by his grandmother after he bought a motorcycle. Its a 2WD automatic 4cyl. I love this car, way better than my '91 Isuzu Trooper. However, the only problem with it is this, when the car is at idle, there is some vibration. It seems to fluctuate up an down while at idle and when i'm stopped at a light or in traffic, it at times lurches forward a little and I have to apply the brake with a little more pressure. Anyone out there know about this? I dont know a whole lot about cars, anytime I've ever needed to do some work on them I usually read through a Chilton and that seems to work fine. So what ever advice is out there i'd appreciate it.

    getting there....
welcome to tw. i'd find out last time it was serviced and drop the transmission pan and replace the filter and fluid. sounds like the filter may be a bit stopped up. also, while you are at it.....change the fuel filter and seafoam the motor.
