I have a vibration in my Taco I can not find the cause of, I have a new third member, new rear drive shaft, new tires balance 4 times at 2 different shops and new brakes. the vibration seems to be coming from the rear as the box shakes a lot when the vibration starts it does it mainly at higher speeds (60 plus) but also around 30 just not as violent. PLEASE HELP!!!
    This is a 2001 2.7 a/t 4x4 standard cab

Sounds like a driveline issue, was the drive shaft balanced properly? Tires could be an issue, but not likely seeing they've been balanced 4 times. Start at the drive shaft, tighten bolts, make sure it's balanced properly.
Vibes are no fun to diagnose but if they weren't there before you added all these things, at least you have an idea.

Have you checked your transmission mount. That rubber might be hard as a rock and not dampening. Loose or worn wheel bearings? Is new drive shaft balanced?

I take it the vibes were before the driveshaft replacement?

I had a similar vibration and decided it was my center support bearing. I ordered a replacement bearing (cheapo) and was going to install it this weekend.

I chocked the front wheels, jacked up the rear under the diff, put it in neutral, then crawled under. I started rotating the drive shaft and looking for backlash and it became obvious that my universal at the diff was not tight. Went to NAPA and bought a new spider kit and rebuilt it and all's well now. One of the bearings wasn't getting grease and probably never had. It was completely dry and the bearings were dust.

Anyway, all I'm saying is I couldn't diagnose this until I got the rear wheels off the ground.....everything felt tight.

I have a couple more things to Change, then I say F it and just live with it, next changes are the rubber transmission mount then the bushings on the steering. If not than in a few more years new Taco for Daily driver and this ones gets overhauled

Issue ended up being a bad Rim.

I ws going to say this but you had tires balanced ( I had this once and it shook the box like you described).

My last tire purchase the shop said I had a bent rim but they were able to compensate with the balance so I'm guessing sometimes they don't even tell the customer?

Damn 7 years later. Did you just find this out? How did you determine it was the rim? I'm also trying to figure out where my vibration is coming from. Annoying.
