I'm still trying to figure out what's the best oil to run and how often to change. Now this?? I can't take the pressure of owning this truck!

Run whats recommended in your owners manual...it should say 87 regular. Imo, anything with higher octane isn't needed.
As far as what gas, i'd stay with any top tier brand like shell, or mobil.

87 runs just fine. The ECU learns on it. Costs a bit more, but I always use top tier gas. None of that cheap-ass Sam's gas for me.

Fuel stations have two tanks in the ground for regular - plus - premium regardless of brand of octane levels. Only two tanks do all.
Regular is in the large tank, the other tank (could be the same size) is premium.
If you choose the mid-grade plus, the pump blends the two (regular and premium) to dispense the mid-grade.

Unless you have the engine that requires or recommends a higher octane you are not going to see a benefit in a standard compression engine.
Just like fancy pin stripes or the STP sticker do not give you an extra 5 HP.

the manual says use 87 or better. you can get a bit more performance with higher octane but most people will say it's not noticeable. however, i disagree, i just takes a while for the ECU to adjust to new gas.

has anyone tried sheetz 88 E15?

Thats bs. I ran several tanks of 92 gas in my v6 just to see, and every time it ran the same...noticeably worse. I think the 87, or higher is toyota just covering their butt from any engine damage if running a lower octane than required....at least for the majority of the country.

Unfortunately, I think you are right.

Edit: I changed the title to maybe fix that.... if that doesn't work, maybe I'll change the title to "Look! Titties!" or something.

Into the driver's seat cushion. Unless you have an impermeable cover, then it just kind of reverberates around the cab.
